Just throwing some different mufflers on it to check the sound. Sitting in the garage it sounds real nice. Hope to get out on the road tomorrow and get some break-in miles completed and then some.  :drink:

Nah. Looks too much like my 2011. Nothing wrong with it, just wanted something different. I'm afraid I'm gonna be sick when I see a blue one in person!!

Good looking ride!   :2vrolijk_21:

When you get some miles on it, would be interested in a ride report.

You going to Maggie Valley?  If so you will see a Blue one.  I was torn between your color and the blue I got.

very sharp looking ride there.  best of luck and ride safe.

BTW, V&H just came out with a new pipe called 450.  THey are 4.5" in a non stepped design.  They say a tad quieter than the Hi Outputs but same internal design with a little more fiberglass wrap.  Good luck and post details and pics

Thanks again everyone. Will be in the Valley starting this Sunday afternoon. Was able to put 140 miles on her today riding two up with Annette.

No rain today, high around 90°. The V&H slip on sound real good and didn't seem to interfere in anyway. Bike was noticeably hotter during the initial 50 break in, then settled down some, then seemed to get warm/hot off and on but not unbearable. I am hoping it will get better with more miles.

I'd have to say, and Annette agrees this is the best bike we've had yet. The center of gravity seems lower, the balance is almost perfect and the bars....took some getting used to but they really fit me well. I did feel a little close in almost like on an ultra classic but I think that was the backrest being a little too far forward. I'll adjust it back a tad for tomorrows ride. Actually once I laid back and down a bit with my feet out on the highway pegs, it fit me very well.

The torque and HP were both very adequate so far. Didn't do any dogging on it but a couple of times I felt the need to twist a little on the throttle when pulling out into traffics and the bike responded very well.

On the interstate for about 10 miles on the way back to Chip and Nancy's house the bike ran very smooth and felt very solid.

The wind.....this was my big dream....and it came true! Both rider and passenger felt very comfortable with the wind. I could tell the difference when I opened the three fairing vents but in a good way. Not better, just maybe cooler due to the movement of the air.

I am very happy with this purchase. I can see keeping this one for a while as long as there are no major mechanical issues or probably even then. It's that good...to me.

Used the GPS some. Need to read up on it more and adjust some settings like always moving up the screen instead of North always at the top, just my personal preference. Also need better "next turn" warnings. I'm hoping it's just some settings.

Any other questions just let me know.

Here she is today before leaving out for our ride:

Very nice Rob, congrats! I took the plunge myself a couple months ago and traded the Duc in for my new Ultra Limited and love it! You're right about these new ones, I said the same thing you did about keeping this one too. I love mine so much I'll check in with you later cause this new Pro Pipe and FP3 aren't gonna install themselves. Enjoy that new ride!

I am glad you are liking your bike, you right up sums it up pretty well. I have never had a passenger on mine.

You are correct wind management is better.  I am getting use to being on an Ultra, all my others have been the custom style.

Looking forward to seeing you bike in the Valley.

Do you have the backrest folded down for Annette to be able to get on and off the bike easier? I don't think my current backrest does that.

Did you notice how there is no air coming up your legs and hitting you in the chest with your feet on the highway pegs?  I did and to me that is a big improvement...really no difference down on the floor boards or up on the pegs!  I agree with all your other assessments.  It keeps getting better.

We ran 300+ miles today. Lots of twistys and about 100 miles on the interstate this evening to get back. When we got back to the cabin, we both were excited about the ride and nowhere near wore out. The bike just sticks in the curves, handles the bumps well enough (for us, about 320-325 pounds between the two of us plus rain gear/leathers, tools etc) and eats up the miles in the super slab. Wind is really nice. Enough but not tiring. As you said, feet on the pegs, which is how I rode 99% of the interstate, and no wind kicking your but.

My wife usually is leaning on me several times throughout a 300+ ride and mainly on me by the last 60, but not today! At one point on the curves today she leaned up and said " from where I'm sitting, this bike handles even better than the red bike" ( our 2011 RG Ultra). We both agree that this is the best bike all around we have ever owned.

I have just over 1350 miles on my blue one, love it.  For a heavy bike it rides great, handles as well as my 12 skunk which was 110 pounds lighter.  My first ever Ultra style bike and I like it.  Wind is much better than on my 09 SERG or my 12 SERG.
