The fairing's performance on the SERG is better IMHO than a UC in head winds and crosswinds.(once you get a better windshield).  What about color options and standard features?  Who wins there in your preference, 10?

They are both equipped the same but here are some things to consider.

SERGU
Feels more open with the fairing further away from you
More color options
Glovebox compartments

SEUC
The radio is much more accessible while riding, you do need to get to it for full iPod operation, genre, playlist etc..
GPS is better situated for viewing, on the glide for me it is too close.
Flamed paint job

I had both of them out in the lot for a good while and it finally came down to the fact that I like the fairing layout on the glide, it feels less cramped to me.

Don't forget the cigarette lighter in the fairing! (Too bad I quit 14months ago).

For me, if you are a big guy .. tall.. the RG is the way to go because the RG rides BIG. I test drove a CVO SESG last August and it felt like a 3/4 scale bike to me.

The RG is my choice also, don't like the windshield in the face. The lowers on the RG flow with the fairing for much better rain protection. It might take some time to get the windshield(s) sorted out but you'll get it after a few tries.  :P  I've hearing good things about the new Ultra CVO RG windshields and may try one soon. I saw the new 103 RG at the dealer this weekend in the Sedona color and it was a knock out and you would save 15K over a CVO and get a better motor and choices on the add ons. I'm sure it would add up real quick to get it to the Ultra status with a TP and lowers and ... but you probably would have a better bike by dodging the 110.  Doc

Hey Cyril,

I had a 2009 FLHTCUSE4, which was a good bike.

But, after riding a 1999 FLTR, I've lusted after a new one, but they haven't imported to the UK. Tried to get a 2009 FLTRSE3, but no chance, although I hear a few made it to the UK.

Anyway, the FLT frame mounted fairing I find a lot easier to ride at low speed, and find the wind protection better, thats why I ordered my FLTRUSE last August, its due in a couple of weeks. I did get the chance to sit on one today, and the new seat makes it seem lower than the FLHTCUSE4, although it isn't, and the riding position was perfect for me, I even liked the rider backrest, which I've never used in the past.

Hope when I ride it, it delivers, have all my bits from Fullsac all ready to go.

Can't wait.

Take care

Simon
