You can lower the rear suspension with SE 12" shocks or an aftermarket shock.   A custom seat will get you a couple of inches too.  There are also various, adjustable air ride suspensions.  Pricey, but that will alow you to raise the bike so you're not scraping in the twisties.  Arnott is one brand that you might want to check out.  Good luck!

okay , I have the same problem and maybe I can help you save some money.

First off I started with a new Sun Downer seat from Harley, shaved the seat area out and put in a gell pack. We also shaved down the sides and re coverd it with Lizzard. This gets you 1.5 to 2.0 inches for $750

Bought lowering suspension blocks from ebay, using the OEM air shocks. Although this will  allow the shocks to angle back causing a rough ride and fender rub. This gets you 2.0 for $45.00

New pair of riding boots and had a thicker sole put on. $150.00

Replaced the OEM air shocks with Progressive 940's, using the lowering blocks, rough ride..and fender rub. Raised the bike 1.5 with screwed down and will cost you buy them on ebay for $500.00

Replaced the 940's with Progressive 212's 11.5 inch shock and removed the lowering blocks. Rough ride but at least i can touch the ground for $220.00

I've been dealing with this issue since October 2008 and 37,000 ago.....good luck.

I installed Legend Air Suspension.  You can lower the bike when you need your feet on the ground and can raise it when riding - with the push of a button...

And I've installed Traxxion Fork cartridges - 1" shorter than stock.

I think I like the Legends option.  Has anyone tried Arnott?  I'm wondering how the two compare.

In regard to the front end, the shop mech told me the front end on the CVO was already lowered, is that true?  Can it be lowered another 1" without bottoming out?

The difference is the Arnott's are much cheaper and they have a better compressor that raises and lowers much faster than the Legends.

I have the Arnott and love them, call Arnott direct and they will take your inseam size and bike style and tell you what exactly you need.

I will do that tomorrow.  Where did they install the compressor?  The switch on the bar, is it chrome or black?  All I see on their website is a black version.

I have a road glide, I had my local HD shop do the install. It was placed on the right rear hidden by the saddle bag and am using a chrome switch on the handle bar. Arnott said the compressor had to go in the fairing but it didn't.

That is NOT true on the '11 SERGU...neither the front or rear have been lowered at all.  If you do lower the front end, do so with something quality, NOT with the HD lowering "kit".  If you're going to spend the money, at least do the Progressive Monotubes 1" lower, and if you want the best, do the Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 cartridges.  Lowering it more than 1" in the front is not a good idea, IMO...people do it, but it's not advisable.

I only have a 29" inseam...I installed Legends on the rear, but kept the front stock height.  I can reach the ground well enough with that combo....well, let me qualify that by saying that in 90% of situations it works well enough.  It's those 10% situations that you have to learn to avoid....like trying to park the bike with a downhill slope on either side of the bike.  Find flat parking spaces from side to side.  Lifting these beasts off the sidestand when the sidestand is on the downhill side and your leg is already straight, is awfully tuff...the opposite side slope presents issues with getting the kickstand up.

Digging up an old thread. Any of you Arnott's users have a link to the exact set up you bought? I'm 5'11" with a 34" inseam and normally don't have many issues. However, the current department at work is taking a toll on my legs and knees and a little bit of extra leverage at times would come in handy. I don't want to lower with changing the seat as I like the way I sit on the bike now as far as reaching the pegs and controls.

Not 11"?  I am sure it was either 12" or 13" (stock length).

I have the 13", thats what you need.  Personally I would look at other shocks, I hate my Arnotts. The ride sucks, very sharp IMO.  Matter of fact, want to buy the shocks & compressor?  I am sure you can get the hose kit from Arnott.  PM me if interested.  I will get you a killer deal, mine are the 11 way adjustable.
