Stock mirrors on the FLTRUSE
« on: August 03, 2013, 08:45:28 PM »

Can someone post up a pix of your stock mirrors and stems please? I bought my bike used and mine seem to be pretty damn boring compared to the 09 CVO mirrors which seem to match my stream liner collections a lot better.

The 09 mirrors were the Rumble Collection mirrors which I believe are obsolete now, thank goodness, cause the chrome on these mirrors was some of the worst I've ever seen. :soapbox:

Gotcha. Just seems like they match up better to the shifter and brake levers than the one that's on mine.  :-\

The mirrors on the '09 were part numbers 92341-09A and 92342-09A, and the MSRP for each was about $96.  The mirrors on the '11 were part numbers 92447-11 and 92448-11, with an MSRP around $67, with a much simpler design.  One might get the impression that Harley decided to save a few bucks while also walking away from the quality problems they had with the '09 parts.

Exactly the comparison I was looking for Jerry.  :2vrolijk_21: You're a wealth of info. I really like the 09 mirrors better but not if they're going to be a quality isseu. :-[

The ones on the right seem to be prone to corrosion inside the holes on the stem. The mirror on my 07 is different but the stem is the same. The brake and shifter have the holes in the stems but they arent having any issues just the mirror stem.

Yep, they`re boring. I had the Rumble Collection mirrors on my '09 FLHTCUSE4 and liked 'em. Don't remember any chrome issues.

I agree with grc, probably a cost cutting issue.

Ok, a member on here was selling his slipstream mirrors. Picked them up and they damn near match everything else perfectly.  :2vrolijk_21: much better than the stock ones.

They are  on MoCo's website for $130. Just wish they had the Rumble stems and the slipstream mirror. Would be perfect then.

I know I'm about a year behind on this posting, but when I bought my "Manvessel" used from a dealer. The original owner had added about $6K worth of options, one of which was a set of Muth Signal mirrors.  Didn't notice them at first (was too busy admiring the Moto Lights on the front forks).  These are excellent mirrors and looked great.  Loved the "hidden" LED arrow behind the glass and the additonal LED's on the chrome side. They were the rectangular, convex version which gives you a much steadier view than the flat glass. Found that out by mistake when the right unit's front LED's went dark and the replacement from Muth (free of charge, by the way) had the flat glass. Yes, you have to feed wire through the "tubes" to attach them to the signal wires, but the results are worth it.  Giv'em a look!
