Electra-Glow Saddlebag side marker lights
« on: January 12, 2019, 04:55:20 PM »

I have Electra-Glo saddlebag side marker lights on my 14 FLHXS. The one side does not light. Volt tester showed power at the connector. Was wondering if anyone else has a similar issue. I need to remove the old light but the tape is holding firmly. Don't want to damage anything. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I would first check and make sure you also have a ground at the plug. Then maybe double check by holding the bag from the side that works up to the non-working side and plug it in and see what happens. If you need to remove a light heat it up with a blow dryer or carefully with a heat gun.

Thanks Bigchuk. I'll try and make this short. Switched bag connectors and same thing. Switched back to correct position and "Voila", they both worked. WTF!!!. Had LED's on my Road King but they didn't last. I'd like to keep them but it seems they have issues. Thanks again.

When you say "same thing" do you mean the same light did not work or the same side did not work? Look inside connectors and make sure you do not have a bent pin. Then make sure connectors are pushed in fully and lock. Then wiggle and pull on wires trying to duplicate problem. Check all connections this way. Is it possible that you did not get them connected good in the beginning? Good luck
