Title: My 2018 Ultra Limited CVO Heated Seat
Post by: taweir on October 23, 2018, 12:29:11 PM
I used my heated seat this morning.  Temp was around 40 degrees.  The heated seat go warm, but that was about it.  I have a friend who has an Indian with a factory heated seat and he says his get so hot on Hi he can hardly stand.  Those of you with HD Heated Seat.  Does it get real hot on Hi or only just warm?

I've had several CVOs with heated seats and they all got so hot on low setting that I never even tried the high setting.  Sounds like you have a problem but since it is no doubt under warranty I'd take it to the dealer.

I don't use the headed seat often but my sweetie does.  She will cycle from low to high and back to low on a ride.  The high setting is a bun toaster on our '15.  Warranty is a good thing... :)

On my 13 CVO Ultra and the 16 CVO limited i usually turn the seat to high, when it gets hot i shut the seat off and it stays toasty for quite some time from the residual heat.

My wife can feel her seat on low even with an airhawk between her but and the seat!

I'm have same issue with my heated OEM grips on my 2018 CVO RG.  Just get warm, not hot.  I don't think the MOCO wired these CVO's for heated seats or grips!

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, the CVO Heated Seat issue has been fixed.  Finally got a chance to go by the dealer to have them check out the problem.  They took the seat off and behold they had not plugged in the seat connection to the point it snapped into place.  They had put some lights on my saddle bags about a month and half ago.  When they put the seat back on the Tech did not plug the seat in correctly so I was getting a partial connection only.  Road to work this AM, 40 degrees, turned the seat on and it set my ass on fire.  Had to turn it down on low.  So what does that tell you.  Tells me quality control at this dealership is lacking.  Sad that you spend 40 K on a bike and then another 300.00 to have lights put on the stuff is not done correctly.   I had Stage one put on the bike back when I first got it and bolts on the pipes were left not tightened.  This kind of stuff could get you killed if they forgot to do something that was critical.  Now, I wonder if I should tell management about it.  They are good folks, but they sell so many bikes (80 to 90 a month or more) that there quality control is lacking I thank.

To the guy who said his grips are not getting hot.  Take the bike back.  My grips get so hot on setting 3 that I have to put them on 1 1/2 and that's still pretty hot.

Have a great day my friends, ride safe.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix.

I rarely could use high heat on mine because it was simply too hot...

I recently recovered my seat and now (with thicker leather and a gel pad installed) I get to use both low & high heat with comfort.

Works great now.
