Garmin has just released a software version update for the Zumo 660

Changes from version 3.20 to version 3.30:
Added MSN Direct v3 support
Added reverse route functionality
Added South African traffic support
Fixed several issues with the trip log
Fixed issue with route recalculation
Fixed incorrect turn angle seen in some roundabouts
Fixed import of favorites
Fixed issue when importing GPX routes
Display city names on the main map
Prevent accidental stop of route while holding the Back button
Added support for enhanced audio Audible books
Fixed navigation prompt playback for some helmets/headsets when A2DP is streaming
Fixed an issue that could cause problems with MapSource or WebUpdater
Changes from version 3.10 to version 3.20:
Fixed incompatible audio version when using the Croatian voice.
Fixed issue with WebUpdater that caused older voices to be downloaded.
Changes from version 2.80 to version 3.10:
Correct problem where units entered a loop of Updating GPS firmware.
Changes from version 2.70 to version 2.80:
Corrected issue that caused the city names not to appear on the map
Corrected issue that caused some settings not to save properly


Connect your Zumo to computer and run Webupdater and follow the prompts to install or go directly to Garmin and download it here - zumo 660, Ver. 3.30, as of August 24, 2009

Me makes two... not bad once you get used to it.

BTW - If you haven't already make a complete backup of your Zumo... connect it to your computer and copy the entire folder of the Zumo hard drive to your computer hard drive. If something were ever to happen to a file(s) on your Zumo then you can restore it.

Thanks for the head up.  Just updated mine as well.  I see that there is a new NA map update.  looks like it cost $75.  is it worth it?

You'll come out cheaper in the long run if you get the Lifetime Maps.... off hand I think the cost of those are $119.00. They will provide you with 4 updates a year for the lifetime of your GPS (note: the updates will only work on one GPS, and that will be the one you first connect/download the updates too). Once you purchase 2 updates individually you've paid more then the Lifetime Map Update.

You should if you haven't already is register your GPS w/Garmin... all depending on when you purchased it you might be eligible for one free update.

You're welcome. I went w/the Lifetime Maps this year after not updating for 2 years... much better option now w/those then they have offered before.

Sure glad they fixed the Croatian voice! Now I can buy one.  It looks like it took two attempts to fix displaying the city names.
version 3.1 or 3.20 broke it again and 3.30 fixed the fix.  I've been in the computer business for 30 years and this is normal.

When I saw the first 660 at Cebit this year I felt intrigued - but after some closer look at it I will stay with my good old 550 for minimum 10 more bug-fixes for the 660 

BTW: just downgraded firmware again. Garmin must have the Harley-desease too ...
