VEGAS
« on: March 24, 2011, 01:19:07 PM »

Hi All,

I am headed down to Vegas in June :bananarock: and was wondering where the better places are to stay where I don't have to worry about waking up in the morning with a missing bike :( (that won't break the bank). Never been there before so all info is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance

Not sure we can tell you.  After all, what happens in Vegas.....    :huepfenlol2:   :huepfenlol2:   :drink:

Seriously,  there are all kinds of deals to be had.  I doubt your bike would be too much at risk at any of the hotels on the Strip.  It depends on what kind of experience you're looking for.   :nixweiss:   Did you want to stay at one of the casino hotels?  I'm sure everyone has their favorite.  I've enjoyed the Mandalay Bay and Venetian but there are many others, of course.  You can probably save $$ by staying off the strip. There was another thread recently about things to see while in Vegas like Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon....   Someone here will probably know great ways to get deals.  Enjoy and don't bet the bike!

Economical and on the strip is the Imperial Palace, one step up is Ballys, next step up is Harrah's, your bike will be safe at all three. Price is =/= quality. The Venetian is much better, as is the Mandalay Bay but the price reflects the quality. If I am going to play poker till the early hours of the morning I stay at the IP, weeknights can be as low as $35.00 for a non member free if you have a Harrah's card, on the other hand if I am schmoozing with the wife I stay at The Hotel, they have the best rooms on the strip in my opinion and no casino so it is a nice place to hang out without listening to the slot machines.

Vegas in general takes care of the tourists, both the Police and the hotels, they know where their money comes from.

You should be reasonably safe at any of the casino parking lots.  However, we stayed at the Paris last summer and they didn't have cameras up in the parking garage so we rode back down to the valet parking.  After talking with the valet manager and a $20 tip, we were able to park both bikes right there at the curb at the front door for a day.

We have been to Vegas on a bike many times. We have never had a problem with the bikes and have never been concerned about them. We have recently been staying at the Excalibur. IMO they are reasonably priced, have nice rooms, covered parking, 24/7 security in the parking lot and a special spot for bikes. If you want to stay on the strip, Circus Circus has family style rooms on the back lot near the motorhome park, where you can park right outside of your room. Very nice place if you want to be able to see your bike from your room. There rooms are nice but nothing special. Another nice place to stay off of the strip, is Arizona Charlies. You can park by your room, and they have nice rooms. In general any of the casinos are pretty safe for bikes, just take the typical precautions like you would at any place you would stay in any other city.

Zee, just about anywhere you go in Vegas you're on a camera.  If not at the particular place you're parking then going in and coming out you were on candid camera. :2vrolijk_21:

Some of them are very obvious and some aren't (did I just see that fake plant rotate?).

Be sure to leave your bike title at home. Don't need it with you if you're around a craps table :P
