....... but i wouldn't
.... Pikes Peak is a 3 hr RT during tourist season
....... then ya gotta go 2 hrs north & west to get to the approach to Evans
...... that's about when the thunderclouds roll in , and you don't really want to be above tree line in a thunder/lightning event.

ps: Pikes Peak highway is also closed to private vehicles above Glen Cove, to enable construction of the New Summit house.  free Shuttle buses take take you from Glen Cove pkg lot to the current summit house & back down.

Agreed, it’s not easy. I did both after they paved the last section of Pikes. Never had a problem with the weather except for cold winds on top. Traffic seems to be lighter in the week.
Good to know the latest construction projects BEFORE heading that way!

Got my bike back and added a couple of “goodies” while we waited for the painted parts (inner and outer fairing, fender, saddlebag and lid) to come from the factory. Painted headlight bezel, LED’s on the fairing and my “buzzer shot” with the vented oil cap from Fueling. Love the look with the new front lights and bezel. Thrilled to get back on it tomorrow. With 8 lights up front if someone pulls out in front of me they are just trying to hurt me..

Well, as others have stated, NOT on my CVO but did ride the newly opened section of the Foothills Parkway and it is very nice. Great views of the smokies and Townsend. Cuts a LOT of time off the route instead of going through Townsend, Wears Valley to Pigeon Forge.  Ate lupper (that's lunch and supper for you uneducated folk) at Huck Finns catfish...oooowweeeee dat b good eatin'.  Came back foothills to avoid the weekend rush home through Sevierville. It was a good day

I love the views on the missing link.  Sure cuts a lot of time off the trip to and from Wears Valley.  I just think the speed limit is too low, should be 45 like the rest of the parkway, not 35.

Dealership replaced both lower fairing speakers and for the second time both saddlebag speakers  under warranty. At least the saddlebag speakers lasted around 6 months this time.

That is a lot of speakers in a short time.  So the issue with speakers was not corrected like they said with the update graded speakers in Sept of 18.

The updated saddlebag speakers are better. The previous model speakers only lasted a month if that. I got a good 6 months out of the updated ones. First time I have ever had the lower fairing speakers go bad.

BSR says we needed coffee.  Beans.  Took the long way to get there, weather was nice so took an even longer way, then took a longer way than that to get home.
