This is just my opinion after spending the better part of one weekend determined to get these shocks set right.

Get the pre-load set for your bike, your weight and the weight you're carrying. if the pre-load is set right, everything is easy adjustments.

Pre-load, pre-load, pre-load.

WHEN SETTING PRE-LOAD ARE YOU USING Z-1,Z-2 OUT OF BOOK OR SOMETHING ELSE TO SET PRE-LOAD? THANKS JDO

In short, once you get the original static sag set, you adjust the preload to keep the bike from squatting too much when you increase the load. In the end you're looking to keep the bike level regardless of how much load you are carrying.

It may seem confusing at first, but you'll get it. Don't be afraid to experiment. Your butt and back will tell you when you get it right.

Enjoy the new shocks.

Adjust the pre-load until the shock sags 5/8"-3/4". It's not critical to be exact down to the thousandth's of an inch..BUT, mine originally had 1-1/2" and it was set up at Traxion's shop. It was riding rough as hell!

After adjusting the pre-load I could then play around with the other adjustments, but I think you'll settle in on the damper set at 7-8 clicks and the rebound around two. But again, get the pre-load first as that is the most critical.
