In August stayed overnight in hotel in downtown Winnipeg.  Thief broke the window and stole gps from an SUV parked within 20 feet of the main entrance to the hotel.  I was parked only 3 or 4 spaces away and that was the one and only night I did not remove my Garmin from my bike.  Thank goodness I had my cover on the bike or it probably would have been gone also.  I'll never, ever leave it on overnight again.
