Glad to join this group and proud to own a 2006 SE Ultra with 20k. Quick question, the heated seats and grips didn't seem to work with bike idling, do they only come on with higher rpms? Thanks

First off, welcome to the best site on the web!
Best check the fuse... They should work at any speed even with the bike off but the accessory / ignition switch on.
Good luck.

Check your voltage at idle with the accessories off, then again with them on. The charging system does not charge at full capacity until above 2,000 RPM. You could also have a weak stator/rotor and or voltage regulator.

My heated grips on my 06' have never worked. I recall reading many years ago that they were notorious for failing to work. My heated seats on the other hand have always worked flawlessly.

You can remove the seat to see if it is plugged in and than check for power and ground.

And make sure it's plugged in to the correct connector. I seem to remember a lot of people finding theirs plugged in to the accessory connector instead of the dedicated connector for the heated seat. Both are 4 place black connectors, you want the one that isn't controlled by the accessory switch on the dash.

Ya know, Mine is hooked into the accessory connector, but I'll be damned if I can find the other connector....

It should be a black 3 place connector located near the fuse panel (see attachment). If it was never used, it may still be taped to the main wire loom. That's the way the wiring harness comes to the factory from the supplier, with the connectors for the optional equipment taped and only pulled loose on the bikes with that option.

The seat is currently off the bike and I looked again after I responded above and still didn't locate it. I will have to look for it to be taped to the loom. Certainly isn't much room under that seat especially with the power commander installed.

Same for me. I have my seat in the accessory switch plug on my 2007 CVO. Cant find another plug.
That being said, to the OP, ensure the Accessory switch is on then try them. Even with the bike not running(will drain the battery fairly fast) they should be able to come on if the switch is on.

Beautiful Bike. I have the Autumn Haze
