New Autumn Haze on the way!
« on: December 03, 2005, 04:08:40 PM »

After 3 months of agonizing I finally pulled the trigger and put some money down on a new 06 SE Ultra in Autumn Haze.  Looking at a March delivery.  Which looks like it will be plenty soon as it's 10 degrees today with a foot of snow on the ground.

I fell in love with the Autumn Haze this year in Sturgis and just had to have one.  Now I just have to sell my '04 Road King Classic.  Know of anyone looking for one?

There's an old Paul Simon song that the Bangles made a lot more popular.  It really ought to be the theme song for you gents waiting for the Autumn Haze bikes over a long cold winter.

You're lucky you could still get one, all the allocations for these bikes were sold back in August around here.

Quite True the day after the LV show I called 8 Dealerships that were within 150 miles of me (Arkansas) and they all had deposits on them they were all gone.  I was the 4 Guy at my dealership out of the three that they had coming in and the third guy could not come up with the money. GOOD news for me, and because I put a $2000.00 down payment the second guy got bumped to the third one and moved me up to the #2 bike that they had coming in and it was the color that I wanted.....or I still would be with out one.  Think the third is due late Feb....

Bubba, that's interesting how they did that. I only had to put 1K down on mine.  I I would hate to be bumped because someone topped my deposit. I think if they did, it would be time to call the law, because someone just got robbed!   [smiley=confused5.gif]

Big John call me and asked me if I wanted the 2nd one the Black that was comming in and I told him SURE DO.... DAH!
The third one you could pick the color on so my guess the 2nd guy may have change his mind about the color?
All I know is that I was supposed to receive the third one which was due in late Jan or Feb.  It work out well for me.

I actually had two dealers to choose from.  One 200 miles away and the other 300.  But then being in South Dakota everything is 200 to 300 miles away.   :)  They both had bikes coming that were available.  I went with the dealer 300 miles away (Twin Cities) because they claimed a March delivery.  The closer dealer couldn't promise  deliver.  All they could say was it could be April, May or June.  April was okay, and even May would have been acceptable, but June was totally unacceptable.  $500 down is holding the bike for me.
