Saw and rode one today-----------What a nice motorcycle! Also noticed it seems a little louder than normal for a stocker.
Not real thrilled personally with the "brown " look it has out in the sun , but man it is really pretty if you like brown.
Rode just like I expected and was really impressive. I would need a little taller windshield( I am 6'3"). I bet next year they will have the rear bag lid speakers,200 watts and hopefully something in a black and another supplemental color that trips my trigger. Doesn't come with any rear mounting , two point or otherwise so you have to buy all that if you want sissy bars or tour pak. Also can't use lowers unless you change the air filter back to the flat oval one. The big sucker will hit the lowers.

MSRP is 30,699.00---------The total out the door price (tx is 6.25% sales tax) was 33596.60
other fees included---73.30 official fees(whatever that is
50.00 document fee
83.32 vehicle inventory tax
29.50 inspection sticker ( we have to have state insp. in tx.)
740.95 freight and setup fee
All this was included in the bottom line price.
I didn't buy it -----------at least not yet. As I said , just not sure about the "brown".

You have to pay tax on their inventory? What hell kind of a tax is that, and why do you have to pay for it as the customer...I see two bogus charges on there. The inventory tax and the official fees. All sounds like "we're charging you this because we can" BS fees. :-\ We have to have state inspections in Virginia too, but it only costs $10, and my dealer throws that in.

I just googled texas vehicle state inspection and it said the motorcycle/trailer cost was $14.50. Maybe that's wrong, but it may be worth looking in to. In NY our motorcycle inspection is $6.

No doubt the so called "official fees" are bogus
The doc fee--------I think most everyone does this nowadays , car dealers included
The inventory fee----------you pay property tax here on what you have on Jan 1. Since this bike came in and was gone like a lot of them are in one week then I don't know . Might be a law and might not. I will check it out. A guy I know in the car business says it is B.S.
Sales tax---6.25% , state law. Have to pay it. It is collected by dealership at point of sale.
Inspection-------not sure about the price . part of the 29.50 may be labor by the dealership. I will check on that .I thought it was 15.00 but it may have gone up. This is state mandated.
Freight and setup--------most of the HD dealerships I know of in Tx. are about the same on this. --725-750.

Thats a good looking color, just like the CVO softail & SG in BROWN...I likeee....

The only ones that are outright B.S. in my opinion are the inventory fee and the state inspection. There usually is no added labor fee for the inspections.

Went by a dealer in W/Salem to seriously consider a purchase of the Maple RG, took the checkbook, until I realized they added $3,000 over MSRP. This put a sour taste in my month. So I guess I will have to wait till a find one at MSRP.

H-D produced 2100 total units...don't know how they split the colors. Of the three, I like the doberman...but not enough trade my '09 O/B...and pay over list.

My past 5 CVO's, I've paid MSRP, a license plate transfer fee and State Sales Tax....nothing more.... No freight and setup, no document fees or any other fees. :2vrolijk_21:

Saw the maple at Smokin Harley in Winston Salem but 33699 is way over priced and that's not out the door that's the sticker on it. I bought my last one there and it was msrp but was being run by someone else then.

For that price there is no way I would buy it, maybe out the door, tax, title, tags and all.
-
I paid 33,699 and am just as happy as paying MSRP ... it all depends on how bad you want the bike. I would never knock anyone for trying to get the best price, but on CVO's they'll be gone if you debate it too long.

I don't believe you could do that now unless you marry the Owner's ugly daughter.

Depending on where you are and youre delaer relationship its still possible.
One thing you wont get a way from here is the freight (more than you folks pay out in CONUS)
Watch the mark-up on the extended warranty, tire and wheel warranty, etc.
-
I wouldn't pay $3,000.00 over MSRP. But I did just pay MSRP with dealer freight and prep fee totaling $705 and a document fee of $275.00. So I paid what amounted to $600.00 above Harley's standard $380 Freight Fee. I couldn't even find the bike in the state of Florida so I jumped on it. Tomorrow i'm riding home on a brand new blue CVO Road Glide with a grin on my face. I've compromised over a lot less.
If you can afford it, buy the bike. Forget the fluff dealer fees. You will regret it if you don't. Besides, the world will end as we know it on December 21, 2012. :pineapple:

OBX HD has "my" maple RG on the floor..... Well it's not mine because I chose the blue one when I seen it, but they don't sell over MSRP if you're interested.
