Handle Bars
« on: March 11, 2012, 04:46:51 PM »

I know, Im asking a lot of questions and i really appreciate all the help. I am very excited about picking up my blue CVO on Friday and driving it back to FL from MS.  I currently ride a 21010 Street Glide with 14" Wild One Ape Hangers which seem to fit me just fine.  I went to the dealership today to sit on a stock Road Glide and I think Im going to torture my neck if I take the 850 mile trip with the stock handle bars. So Im going to scramble and see I can get some bars shipped and installed before Friday.

I like the Wild One Chubbys for my Street Glide but I think they may be too thick looking for the Road Glide. Something about the CVO Road Glide suggests to me a little more refinement and leanness (I think thats a word)

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Stock road glide and CVO road glide have different bars.  The 12 CVO road glide bars are exactly the same bend and height has Heritage bars, they are a 10" mini ape.  I have found them pretty comfortable so far.  I have about 3500 miles on mine, I am 6'1".  I will be riding it from Knoxville TN to Key West around the end of the Month.

Thanks for the input Dave. I was getting ready to scramble and try and get er done before my trip. But I think I may be able to tolerate the 10" bars.  I sat on my buddys who has 12 and they were fine.  After my post I looked at the Wild Ones Outlaws which have a smaller angle back on the the grip. I may check them out but I may likely wait until after the trip.

Also, look me up  if you like when your headed down to Key West. I am about 3 to 4 hours north. Delray Beach may be the perfect spot to crash.

Thanks again!

I think we are going to head down the West Side of the State, May stop in Pensacola on the way down to visit our Daughter and Grand Daughter, then stay in Fort Myers to visit the Edison Winter home.  Not definite yet, still working out the amount of time and what we want to to.
