Title: plastic or steel breather gear?

redoing my evo and want to get some opinion's on the pro's and cons of the different gears,I figured the plastic is the way to go as far as wearing the cavity for the breather gear,,s&s sells all steel and stock harley are all plastic.....any input would be apreciated...headpan

Every cam change I did in Evo's I replaced the breather with the S&S version. I would not worry about wear. The plastic ones timing can vary a bit.

The steel ones tend to wear much less and do not score the bore as badly. If the bore is scored you can use a over sized gear, and bore the hole to fit with hone done last.

The plastic ones pick up and get inbedded with grit which wears the bore, go with steel. Fly
