New CVO and new here.
« on: December 25, 2019, 06:50:39 AM »

Hello everyone from Central Florida. Just bought a new 2020 CVO Limited (Sand Dune). OMG what an ordeal so far.

When I purchased the bike the dealers loan officer told me the loan would be 5.99% for 5 years. (My credit score is very high 700s) I asked what happened to the 0 down and 4.49 that's on the web site. She claimed it was not available anymore. She told me what the payment would be a month and I told her it was to high. She said we can do 6 or 7 years and gave me monthly payment amounts. I said I'll do 7 years. When I got home, I found my interest rate went up to 9.99%. Went back to the dealer and asked her WTF. She claimed she told me that's what it was for 7 years. I told her there is no way if you told me that, that I would have ever made that deal. Long story short, had to go to a credit union and got 3.25% for 6 years.

Next, was detailing the bike. Found the luggage rack was loose. Opened the tour pack to find the liner inside was all wet when I removed it. Not only that, but the bolts holding on the luggage rack didn't even match. Another WTF moment. Does the factory or the dealer install the luggage rack so I know who to blame on that garbage?

Next, 120 miles on the bike, the paint on the right hand grip is coming off. Again, WTF?

So sorry to vent on my first post but so far I am very disappointed. I can only hope things get better with time but as of right now, I expected more out of a $40,000.00+ motorcycle.

Welcome!

Not sure what dealer you bought from, sounds like lousy service.

On the 2 issues you found - make the dealer aware of them.  They are supposed to check the bike over, obviously they did not.  If they do not make this right or set this on motion to make it right, get with Harley customer service Milwaukee. They can get involved if needed. Would check the bike over very thoroughly - again - to make sure there are no other issues.

On the credit, dealers make a profit on financing. Sales person was looking to bump their commission up more than likely.  You fixed this yourself, back when I financed vehicles I checked with my bank, etc. beforehand.  Sometimes the dealer could beat the bank, other times they could not.  Dealer is supposed to make sure you know the terms of a loan prior to your signing.  "Supposed to" but many times they do not & that's only one way they get "ADP" (Additional Dealer Profit).

If you watch this Video and Fast Forward to the 1:08 mark it looks like the luggage rack is already installed but the backrest is not.   If the backrest is not installed then the upper tour pac liner must not be installed either because the bolts for it are under the liner.

Welcome from the UK. Sorry to hear of your bad experience. I hope it all gets put right and your CVO ownership is a happy one in 2020 and the years to come.

Just MHO when you buy a bike (used or new) scour that thing from front to back before you take it. Bring a friend to help. Another set of eyes always helps. I hope your dealer comes through for you. At least a free t-shirt!   lol

Welcome to the forum from Sydney Australia. Unfortunately it seems that these days lots of owners find a lot of faults with their new bikes. Good luck in getting everything rectified
