I have never felt the heat on my thighs and I am 5'10". I wear draggin jeans with a kevlar lining and most of the time I have my feet resting on the highway pegs when I ride (I have the Lindby engine guard with highway pegs). You might want to check out the draggin jeans www.dragginjeans.com , it may solve your problem. I have the knee armor option in my jeans for added protection. I don't like to wear leather pants or chaps in the summer and these provide good protection. They also do a good job of keeping me warm on cooler days.

Drogers: I'm not sure why you and I are the only riders with this issue, but I've burned my thigh when resting my heels over the pegs.  I have found that if I lay my feet a bit on their sides on the pegs, that bends my knee just enough to avoid major heat.

are you sitting too far forward on the seat?
that's the only way I could see this happening.

Here's my "crotch" shot! ::)

there's about 3" clearance between my right leg and the head.
and I do ride in shorts in the summer!

it looks like you have shorter legs than I do........ :P

Your feet are on the pegs,I only make contact with the motor when I put my heels on top of the pegs.I solved that problem today with the HD Tallboy seat.It puts you up two and back three inches.Now I clear the motor by 1 inch. :2vrolijk_21:

putting my heels on top of the pegs just raises my leg higher, making my thigh a little further away from the head.
I'll take another pic to show you. :2vrolijk_21:

If I used the tallboy seat, my feet would never touch the ground, and I wouldn't be able to reach the handlebars comfortably. :-\

That wont be necessary.Between the Tallboy seat moving me back 3" and the new 3" extended forward controls I now fit the bike.My knees are still bent,but my buddy sat on it and his toes barely touched the pegs. :)
