What's a good set of soft bags for over the back seat?
« on: March 20, 2009, 03:52:52 PM »

What's a good set of soft bags for over the back seat of a 2008 springer? I don't want fixed bags, just something I can throw over the back for a cross town ride or weekend off somewhere. I "think" I want nylon but... whaddYU think?

I found a good set, the Kuryakyn Granthrow bags look good and are multifit, about $230.

Tried that for about a month even took a microfibre cloth (only used for this) and put down first, then the bags. I was very careful and the fender still started showing signs of destruction!! Found these at the MOCO from Leather Pro for around $679.00 installed all it took was Replacing the 2 rear fender mounting bolts with 2- 3/4" studs (not noticeable like some others) turn signal relocation kit. They're  nothing like the old bags with the stiff bottom leg to keep sh-t off the tire, just the 2 mounting studs, had my son time me it took under a minute to get both sides off and about 2 to get them installed, Carefully!!!!!!!! Thats what I was personally after, quick, yet very discreet!! I'll try this picture sorry if a little large!!

Fox Creek throw overs on a mustang wide seat works for me.The detachable sissy bar keeps them clear of paint ect.

I agree with you all, the rubbing and wear on the paint job would be problematic. Got me thinking about some standoffs, chromed of course, and if those aren't available, there's always a fabrication need isn't there? Give me an excuse to whip out the tig! I appreciate all your thoughts on the bags.
