Saddlebag Lid Spoiler Kit Install
« on: June 02, 2009, 02:13:32 AM »

I add the Color Matched Saddlebag Lid Spoiler Kit to my '06 SEUC.  I wanted to add some more light to the rear end and thought that this may help as well as add a little style.

As you can tell from this pic, H-D sent along a nice PAPER guide for drilling the holes.  I was hoping for that thin plastic guide that I have had before when installing an item that needed to be drilled.  Oh well, I was sure glad a buddy of mine stopped by to help and he did the drilling as well as kept me calm durring the process.  I get a little on edge when it come to doiong thins right the first time without practice.  It is not like I can erase a drill hole.

Once the holes were marked by a punch we used a small drill bit to drill small pilot holes. Then the guides were removed.

We used the painters tape to cover the holes and used the same drill bit to poke holes in the tape where we would be drilling the larger holes.

My buddy used a razor blade to clean the holes of the plastic and give it a smooth finish.  Yeah this is why I was on edge and did not want to do it myself.  Thanks Gil!

This is the fresh out of the box look at the Color Matched Saddlebag Lid Spoiler. The tag on it said TAMMY.  I would like to meet her some day.  LOL! The paint look great and we started to install the LED lights into the spoilers

Oh yeah we had to drill another hole on the inner side to run the wire up and out of the saddle bag and under the seat for the electrical connection.

Found the ACC. connection and connected the Y adapter
This was what the MOCO stated to use as the power supply.
I tried the other connection and no lights

When you're ready to add the turn signal module, let me know. It's A LOT easier than drilling holes!  :huepfenlol2:

Not that hard, you just measure a million times and drill once........................

Took me 3 hrs to install mine on my last bike, and only 10 minutes of it was bolting them on and running the wires.

Last name.  I put it on there because I always see people blur out their plate, cover it or just take it off.  I used the tape.
