Hey Rudy , How is your bike going ? These machines are awesome to ride. I went for couple of long runs this week and it just keeps getting better!

Glen, I am a bit like you - big save job to get it and looking forward to having a motorcycle i have only been able to dream of in the past. Many years of great motoring ahead I hope (not that my RK Classic was bad)!

Hi Dave

I got the V & H Hi Outputs fitted with SE race tuner and I love the deep rumble. 800 klms on the clock now, so its run in according to the manual. Bike goes great. Still waiting for the SE upgrade kit to arrive and the V&H Power Duels (bike is booked in for 1st November - advised about 4 days turnaround).

Still get the "burning inner right calf" when riding, even short distances. Feet ok, knee ok, leg ok but very hot inner right calf (it's easy to spot me riding on the road, I have to keep sticking my right leg out like Rossi to let it cool). Sure hope the V&H Power Duels solve this issue.

Recommended retail price ride away in the Sydney metro area is $47,250 for the CVo Street Glide (if you got it cheaper, dont tell the wife and spend the extra on the upgrade kit like me). These motors are "sleeping giants and can be woken up" with minor mods as in the SE booklet (page 24 bottom left side).

Hey Rudy
Looking forward to the results once you get those upgrades done. Me I did a little better with $46K ride away - then spent $2100 on pipes, race tuner etc.

Have you been given a price as yet for the Power duels, SE upgrades & labour?
Cheers
Glen.

Guys, picked up the bike last evening and they are a fantastic looking machine.  I will post pics soon (my camera takes a JPEG to large for this site to accept - 2.8 MG).

Great help Rudy - thanks very much for the info here - I already have the high output pipes & race tuner - so should save a little $$$ if & when I get this work done - you refer to page 24 of the SE book - what book are you referring to exactly??

Getting back on topic...............

I had great wear on my last set of Dunlops running the max pressure listed on the tires 42 rear, and 41 front.

I use the Dyna Beads for balancing, got just under 15k on the front tire. Center was still good, outer sides of the tire were worn out. The rear had just a tick under 14k on it. Still had probably 3 - 4k left on it, but it was cupped so bad I decided to replace it when I did the front.

Guys, just starting the run in process.  You doing anything in particular or just normal riding?  I have always run in my standard Harleys as follows:

1.  Get it warmed up and then start in in 3rd or 4th with 3 to 4 runs from 2000 rpm to 4000 rpm and let it back of back to 2000 rpm or so and then do it again.
2.  Do this through the gears up and until you are well over the legal limit and then you naturally have to back off.
3.  No cruise at constant rpm until the 500 mile mark
4.  Around town nothing over 3rd gear and just ride it normally

Fair approach with this engine as well do you think? :2vrolijk_21:

I am running 40psi in the front and 42psi in the back.

The rings will seat in the first 20 miles unlike what the dealer will tell you they need to be run hard in this period to seat properly. I run mine to redline right from delivery to seat the rings properly. No steady speed ro cruise control in the initial 500 miles.

For general reference any low rpm lugging the motor in this period is a major no no!

If they do not seat properly in the initial period they will remain that way.

Change the oil at 500 miles and stick to Synthetic I prefer Redline fluids but not siure what you have available?

Wheels, thanks mate.  I usually run them hard initially for that exact reason (up to 4500rpm) but not to the redline.  No lugging (got that)!

Lance

Boys added a few photo's as well.  Altered the back of the Aussie version with that ugly red tail light.  Put on the HD black LED and removed the reflector - makes it a bit more reasonable!  Will add a few more.
