I really like the White.  The 121 in the ST is not a VVT motor.  It does have more HP and Torque than the CVO Road Glide, redline is moved up to 5,900 RPM.  Front suspension is fully adjustable, where is the CVO Road Glide is not.  Rear is remote rear is also fully adjustable.  It add Track mode to the ride modes also.  It is lighter than the CVO road glide.

Some of us can remember when CVO equated to "throwing the catalog at it" from the P&A catalog.  Now even paint costs extra.

From the pics I have seen it looks like the holes are still there for pegs, but I could be wrong.....and no way to put a removable tour pack either??   So a touring bike that you have to ride alone and can't tour with???  A $42k bar hopper......

Yep..and now it comes with less customization, a copy of the catalog and a higher price tag

Ciro makes a great mount for highway pegs. Mounts to the floorboard mount. You'll scrap your cans before those mounts.

My bet is the people that  buy this bike continue down the high performance path rather trying to make it a good bike for touring.

Being non VVT, you could bolt HD 135 cylinders on it, good cam, HPI intake and so on.  Nobody has VVT cams yet, fueling and S&S working on them.

 I confirmed you can add the docking points and tour pack.  Just need a separate bracket to mount shock reservoir or relocate them.

Also the parts catalog has a passenger pillion.

I'm sure a couple will. That money will add up very fast to do it.  Still think most will go performance bagger route.

I would have to buy the heal shifter.  Thats the only way I up shift except on my Pan America, and I find my self trying to do it on my PAS.

2001 kept everything the 2000 had and added the (often failing) multi-disk CD player in the tour pak.  Lowers on all of them.  Lots of other smaller goodies.  Still riding my red 2000.

I thought they might have used the lithium battery for eight savings, but no deal, same old battery.

Holes are still there in the frame for passenger pegs.

If it came with a few more options, like heated grips and speakers in the bags, I could convince myself to take the plunge.  But I’ll likely spend $15 less on a 2024 Road Glide and add 128” Fuel Moto kit and a sound system from Volunteer Audio or Sinister Sound

The 2000 CVO Road Glide's MSRP was $23k if I recall correctly.  Five years later the 2005 CVO Electra Glide was $30k.  Both were great bikes and topped out relative to their time. 

The Fed's CPI calculator says $23,000 from January of 2000 is $41,795 in money from December 2023.  It also says $30,000 from January of 2005 is $48, 255 for this same past December. 

FWIW, the government's CPI calculator doesn't have a dropdown to add surcharges for paint...

I think low 40’s is fine for a cvo, my problem began when they started exceeding $50-$55k plus all the other add-ons. I bought my 22 cvo rgl which has every option under the sky used with only 900 miles on the odometer for $15k less than if I had bought it brand new.

I will say, other than the ridiculously quiet exhaust, the bike is flawless.
Technology works great and the acceleration is insane.
Suspension is super easy to tune and the rider position is aggressive.
Sure no 2 up seat, but possible if you really want a passenger.
I did break down and throw a set of Kromewerks 202645's on it.

I sat on that exact model couple of weeks ago. For a factory performance bagger, it was very well done. Amazing isnt it how quickly you ditched the titanium tip mufflers they sell standalone for $1250, lol!

Been used to Vance & Hines 2-1 with no cat on my streetglide.
You gotta let the cages know ur coming and believe me, those $1200 titanium mufflers suck
so now they sit in a box and my bike sounds like a Harley

Your telling me, disappointment for sure.
Modifying them to sound better looked like major drama which is why i said...good bye and got the Khromewerks, which evidently sound straight up awesome and look like they were made for that bike. :P

I have TAB performance B.A.M sticks with Zombie baffles on my 23 CVO, love the sound.  Wish those SE had a good sound.

I would never ever buy a bike from a dealership that has any kind of dealer markup much less  than a $10k dealer markup on MSRP. We have 10 dealerships give or take in the 100 mile radius of the DMV area, there are several I have never bought a bike from because of exactly this.

You’re right, when I lived in the DMV I was spoiled. I could always find a part or bike in stock that I was looking for somewhere close.Waugh HD in Orange was my favorite.

"Big Daddy" Don Waugh definitely was one of a kind... it was a joy to talk to him when going to his store. It was a true old school dealership where the owner was a rider/motorcyclist. He sold the dealership a few years before he passed and name has changed to Stonewall H-D. They are moving the dealership out of Orange into Greene County on Route 29. KC if you remember from your time in the area the new dealership will be a little south of Route 33 on the southbound side of Route 29.
