Rossmeyer family dealership changes hands
« on: November 22, 2013, 08:39:47 PM »

Got an email from Lisa Rossmeyer Wade yesterday thanking all her customers and saying goodbye.  She sold the dealership to Bob Parsons, founder of GoDaddy.com, who already has two dealerships in Arizona.  Only know what I read about them in this link but looks promising, maybe.   :nixweiss:

You obviously have some inside info regarding the Rossmeyer dealership sales..........the link talks only about a dealership in Mississippi.

Rossmeyer owns or owned...........multiple dealerships,  the total number of which I do not recall. :nixweiss:

From bad personal experience with Southern Thunder HD, Hopefully this will be a blessing. And hopefully they will lower their ridiculous prices. I'm a Bumpus Harley Davidson loyal customer now. Be hard to pry me away from the Bumpus Family.

No, no inside info.  Just know Lisa through a mutual acquaintance and go down there from time to time.  Never bought anything there that I can recall - no scooter for sure.  Did get a price from them on my '12 but bought it from Bumpus in Memphis because So. Thunder was way, way higher in price.

No idea exactly how the Rossmeyer enterprise is structured.  All I know is Lisa was the owner - 100%, 1% I have no idea.  As far as I know the change in ownership pertained to this dealership only.

I cannot confirm the sale either, but I heard the same thing this weekend that the Southaven, MS Dealership was sold.   :nixweiss:

FWIW: The Rossmeyer family owned 13 Harley dealerships nationally and several other businesses when Bruce died a few years back.

When the estate was settled, 3-4 dealerships were sold before the economic downturn. Additionally, 4 other dealerships including the ones mentioned in the above posts as sold were "distributed" to family members.

The initial plan was to ultimately retain only the Daytona facility and Ormond Beach real estate which is solely owned by Shelly Rossmeyer and over time, sell the remaining dealerships as and when reasonable prices could be obtained.

Their dealer in Sunrise (Broward County) was sold around 3-4 months ago. I have understood that the dealer in Fort Lauderdale was closed......I havent confirmed this.

Harley Davidson of Scottsdale announced this acquisition several weeks ago.  Also Parson's dealership in Scottsdale is an MSRP dealership on CVO bikes.  Perhaps they will adopt that philosophy at the new location.

His current plans include building a 140k sq foot HD dealership in Scottsdale across from the current location.  Construction to begin in 2014.  He owns other adjacent properties fueling speculation of a facility rivaling Rossmeyer's in Daytona.  Will keep you posted.

Back in a few year ago I was in Daytona for bike week and Rossenmyers had a CVO Ultra marked up almost $10k over MSRP. I took a picture of the tag but I can't find it now. I was freaking out on that one.

In 2007 Daytona was $9k over MSRP.  Bought mine for MSRP 240 miles away.  Was at Rossmyer's again 2 weeks later.  2 CVO Ultras had already sold.  Nuts.

Sales guy was non plussed when I told him I was buying the same exact bike for 9k less.  Said if you come back in a few weeks, these CVOs will not be here.  He was right.  So was PT Barnum.
