Title: MSRP on new bikes, Re-Sale of 07
Post by: soulfly on September 01, 2012, 12:47:38 PM
I am at the crossroad of where everyone told me that I would arrive.  I am ready to jump to a CVO Road King.  The Dyna hurts my wife's ass, she cannot ride with me anymore.  What should I expect to get for my 2007 FXDSE Twilight Blue-Granite W/Ice Blue Pearl Re-Sale vs. trade in.  Just under 12K, Mint condition!  (Should I list it here?)  And I hate that the dealers add 1-2K to MSRP on the new bikes.  I paid MSRP in 07, but that was for a Dyna CVO, will I get that oppportunity on a new CVO RK?

Here's a good starting point.  Review the following:

I didn't get much interest on my traded in bike with an asking price of $17,500....Drane's gave me $15,600, which with the tax saving turns into $17,472, and I took off about $2000 worth of adds. Don't forget to factor in the tax saving, if going to trade.

BigLew, I like the NADA link, never heard of them before.  Dayne, that is actually great news as far as I'm concerned.  Thanx to both of you!!  Part 2 of my Post; I am being told the race tuner I put in is linked to the VIN#, and stays with the bike, the only thing I am not prepared to negociate... :'(

A Race Tuner is permanently linked to a bike once installed.  It is useless to any other bike.  Intent or desire notwithstanding the Race Tuner only works with the bike it was originally installed on.

Stay away from dealers stealers that want to charge you more than MSRP... you should be able to find a dealer that will sell you a CVO RK at MSRP.
