Author Topic: Anyone using the Custom Dynamics front & rear turn signal kits on their '14-'15?  (Read 4984 times)

I'm looking for ways to increase my "conspicuity" while on our crazy highways.  I used to have a headlight modulator on my old EG, but don't want that on my RGU.
I see where Custom Dynamics has LED light kits available for the '14-15 HD's that convert the front turn signals to small running lights (although they're more like "being more visible to others" lights) and then they turn amber for turn signals.  They also offer the rear turn signals that can be wired for turn, running and stop lights (I believe?) and pulse when braking.
If you bought and installed this setup or one like it, what was the install like and what do you think about them now?

I have the front lights you are talking about on my 2015 FLHXSE. Easy to install. I like them and would buy again.

I have a buddy with the front and rear on his 2014 FLHTK. He is very happy also.

I've got them on mine. I love them. Dynamic rings on the front is what you're talking about. I used the amber leds for the rear turns as they are brighter than stock. Simple plug and play install, turn on flashers for about 30 seconds to let the bcm adjust and you're done. :2vrolijk_21:

Yeah, I had the chrome motolights on my '11 RGU and loved everything about them...except the price.  Would love to go that route again, or maybe the Clearwater lights, but at $500-$600 or more...wow.  I've got a lot of things I want to do and would love the lights, but...

Yeah, I had the chrome motolights on my '11 RGU and loved everything about them...except the price.  Would love to go that route again, or maybe the Clearwater lights, but at $500-$600 or more...wow.  I've got a lot of things I want to do and would love the lights, but...

I hear you about the price on them. I live in Ohio and would have to pay sales tax on top of everything else so that's about another 6.5% depending on the county they're in.
I made my own out of Dyna turn signal housings and some led guts. Not as bright as the Motolights from the riders view but still very effective on the  visibility factor to oncoming traffic and the mirrors of those in front of you.

I have the bullet rings on the front and the magic strobes brake light flasher for the rear.

I'm running the Dynamic Ringz in front and red leds in rear. Also put on their Run-Turn-Brake module that flashes rear for brakes and makes turn signals into brake lights.  Very easy install, simple plug in lights and module.  My dealer carries the led signal lights so got those there and ordered the RTB module through dealer catalog.  They have a special RTB module for the Canbus CVO's so read their site carefully to get the right one. I go through the dealer as I'm still getting discounts on parts for buying the bike there and do not have to fool with shipping.  I did have one of the Ringz lights that was defective and had to get dealer to replace it.  Looked like somehow the contacts in the 1157 light base had been swapped.

I have them on front and rear, had them on last three bikes. CD stuff is tops. Using the run/turn/brake module that works the turn sigals accordingly on my 15 with the red led inserts. Very bright, the newer module has an intensity adjustment on it so you can make the turn signal inserts match the run lights in intensity when in run mode. Kind of cool.

Moved my C.D. halo front lights from the '12 to the '15 with no issues.  Actually, it's much easier with the new canbus system....no load equalizer needed on the '15  Anyone need my old one from the '12?

With all the LED's on the '15, I will eventually replace the bulbs for the rear turn signals with the Custom Dynamics offering, too.  I've had absolutely no issues with the halo LED's for the past 2 years (same set).

To all who responded,

Thanks y'all!  This is all good news, and I appreciate everyone's input.  Hopefully future riders who are interested will also see this thread and it'll help them out as well. 
I knew CD made good stuff, and I've seen the videos of the front/rear signals in action and those videos just about sell the product all by themselves, but I needed the true experts to ring in on the subject!
So now I just need to call CD and order the correct stuff!

I appreciate you guys!

If you have access to any dealer discounts the Custom Dynamics items are also available from Drag Specialties so I had Bumpus order for me and picked up next time I was by dealer.  Just be carefull with what you order because I found Drag Specialties puts their own stock number on them.

I had the Ringz and Amber turns on my 2010 SEUC and removed and sold to a buddy with a 14, and they  work great, and no need for a load equalizer... :2vrolijk_21:
