Sure, you can replace the stock speakers, but the problem that I've run into when changing out audio systems is that the stereo itself really doesn't have enough balls to push the sound out of the upgraded speakers. So what you have is sub par audio quality. If you replace the speakers, you should also replace the stereo, too.

Look at the Hawg-Wired Amp and CX speakers.  Can't go wrong with it.

As Ernie stated, if you want the best get the HWired.  If you don't want to spend that much and still get a much better speaker than stock, go with HogTunes.     www.hogtunes.com

You can always get the Hawg-Wired CX speakers and not the amp.  I like them better than the Hog Tunes

Interesting.  Terrie rides an 09 Street Glide and I can hear her stereo over mine (04 SEEG) through the Nolan intercom (from her helmet to mine).......on the freeway.  Sounds a hell of a lot better than mine and I have the Hog Tunes. :nixweiss:

I'm thinkin "if I decide to keep this bike I can just pick up the 09 stereo and speakers for a reasonable price. :nixweiss:

JC-

Do what Ernie said and get the HawgWired CX speakers and amp if you keep the 04..  The Harmon Kardon's not easily adapted to our bikes if at all.

It can be done.  But it is a chore.  And there are much lesser cost alternatives that let you end up with a better radio package anyway.
