The speakers are cutting out
« on: August 15, 2011, 08:47:06 AM »

Hello, I have a problem with my Harman Kardon radio. The radio works normally, then the speakers cut off and there is no sound anymore, if I use the switch "SPKR" on the left of the main switch and put it down on the speaker mode, the music comes back for a moment (some days for more than an hour) and then the sound disappears again. I turn the switch on the middle position and the sound comes back for a moment again.
So I wonder if the problem comes from the switch or from the radio? :-\
Anyone has ever have this issue before? :(

Do a quick search and you'll find loads of posts on this.

Seems that the HK head units don't seem to enjoy working for very long!

If the icon on the display is changing with the position of the switch, the switch is ok.
More than likely its the radio. If rocking the switch makes it come back, the issue is either with the DSP or some circuit
around the DSP responsible for switching the audio output from speaker to headset.

So I think I'll soon need your service... :-\ I don't know if I will make it repaired or if I put a real modern unit because this HK was already obsolete when they did it!
