Probably less of a planned replacement for the 600/650 than it is just a cheaper alternative to them.

A cheaper alternative is the Garmin 2730 Streetpilot w/XM radio.  It's the GPS that all of us had back in 04 and 05.  They're on ebay everyday now however, most are missing the XM antenna (they're selling those seperately).  These have satellite traffic and satellite weather.  Terrie and I both have this model as well as one I had in my truck and an extra I'd picked up.  I saw one on ebay last week with XM antenna that went for $175!

the real replacement is to go with the nuvi 50lm for 129.00.  if it breaks, who cares, it was only 129.00.  keep it dry with a zip lock or something similar if it is raining. so for the price of the 660, or 665 you could by 4 to 6 of the nuvi models.  what is the advantage of the zumo?

To me the "real advantage of the zumo" is the fact that it can be used during a downpour.  Have done that multiple times.

Just personal preference but the Zumo 550 that I have still works great and I would not want to trade it for three or four of some other model.

I'm not changing just to change, my 660 does what I need.  Wonder if it'll accept the current dash mount?

No center row of contact points like the 660/665.

The 2730 has been discontinued for awhile now, I had one several years ago but it quit and they wanted $175 to repair, so trash can it went. I think the Road Techs are more aesthetic and modern looking anyway and now the new ones, with free updates, that is always a good thing.
