Thinking of buying boom audio 8 speaker system
« on: June 07, 2012, 11:01:26 PM »

Part number 76000209 $1899 to put on my 2010 sesg someone talk me out of it!!!!! Unless it's really worth the money. It's the system that comes on the 2012 sesg. I really like how the system looks and it's all plug and play! Any info would be great.

Don't do it.  I have a 2012 SESG, and am very unhappy with the sound.  Can't even hear the rear speakers.

Save your money and get a system for the front and lower speakers.  Hawg Wired, Hawg Tunes, Biketronis, JL will give MUCH better performance for the money.

Good Luck!

I agree.  Totally over rated.  Do something else ,   This stuff is nothing to write home about.  :nixweiss:

I also agree.  The biketronics system I had on my old bike was actually better for a lot less.

Definitely go aftermarket.  I've already blown a tweeter in one of the fairing speakers of my '12 SEUC.  Oh, the joys of sorting out a new bike ...

Still like the bike.  The deal with the speaker is a nuisance, but will get taken care of (one way or the other! :drink: :huepfenlol2:).  Slapped a George Anderson tour-pak relocator on a couple nights ago.  Everything else is status quo ...... for now. ::)

Thanks for the info guys!!!! I'm going to pass on the boom audio its a lot of coin. I have the Harley speaker lids and grills getting painted next week. Then going to go with the Rockford fosgate PBR amp, power 6.5 in front, and power 5x7s in lids.

I was somewhat satisfied until tonight. Mine is a 2012 FLHXSE3 with 7000 miles. It started a week ago with the front speakers shutting off. Then  intermittent operation of the entire system.  The entire system is down tonight. It came on once after several attempts.  The radio would turn on but no sound. I would not purchase the boom audio.  >:(

And mine has seemed to heal itself, at least for the time-being.  Cranking loud and clear (well, as loud and clear as this system gets, anyway ::)) out of all channels, all the time.  Even what I thought was a blown left front tweeter that didn't work at all for the last 50 miles of a ride a week or so ago and later on in the garage that night, is now cured.  Goofy-ass Harleys. LOL
