This reduced the GPS glare--NuShield
« on: June 24, 2012, 01:33:52 PM »

I recieved mine yesterday and applied it to my Nuvi. Went for 150mi ride and was rather impressed. Sunny day and the glare was much improved. Not perfect, but it never will be with direct sun exposure. I like it and would order it again. Much better that's for sure.

Well after talking with one of my power boating buddies he suggested that I try a product by NuShield called DayVue. This is a Anti-reflective film that applies to the screen of your GPS. After applying it yesterday I must say that I am 100% satisfied with the product and I can easily see my GPS screen in the sunlight.

I would highly recommend this to anyone running a GPS that has sun glare issues.

2 films cut for your unit run about $15.00
Also, here is a 10% off promo code: NCLP10

Ordered mine today. Thanks for the post. Always seem to have the glare problem with my GPS mounted on the gas tank lid. Like where it is mounted but always have the glare problem. Will in-trust that your experience was a good reason for me to try it.

Thanks Again....................................

After about 1500 miles and two trips, I would have to say I like it.  I know I can see better than without it.  I also think it negatively affects the touch screen. When I go to put in an address, sometimes it's hard to get a letter to register.  That being said, it's not perfect, but an improvement for the glare.

Would the touchscreen calibrate help maybe?

Changed my mind on the stuff. Took it off, as I found I couldn't enter addresses. It messed with the finger touch tracking too.

Company I work for had all drivers order and install them on NUVI's as a trail. 1 guy out of 8 kept his, the rest threw them away due to increased effort to program. I actually saw no advantage to it, I have ZUMO on bike and it has no problem with glare, I have screen set to 100% and no problems with the Florida sun.

i ordered mine, no problem, paid with paypal, no problem, ordered for my Zummo 550, no problem.

Got it today...Problem. I can't for the life of me figure out why they send two 3" X 2" screen protectors for my 4" X 2" Zummo screen!!! It makes no sense to have to use two, and cut one to add an extra 1" in the length. They HAVE to have screen bigger than 4" X 2", right? Sent them an email, awaiting their wisdom on this one. I will update when they share that wisdom
