I am a old harley dude riding the air cooler v twins for forty years just bought a v rod for 3000$ I love the handling and power this bike makes
I never considered owning or even riding a v rod but this deal was to sweet to pass. I was going resale but after riding and getting use to it ,it's a keeper
I would recommend a v rod to anyone
Any other opinions ?

I have had a few V-Rods. But the CVO Street Glide is my preferred ride for the type of riding I like to do.
You'll like it for short rides and a few roll ons from time to time but it is not agle enough to do as well as a foreign bike at Deals Gap for instance because it wasn't designed for that type of riding.
The motor is very durable if it was taken care of---oil changes and periodic coolant changes--etc.
Enjoy!

Mine is a 2012, with some non OEM mods. It's Fun, lighter than the ultra, really a straight line bike but it can still corner. Did i mention is fun. the bsr is only good for about an hour on it so the ultra see's most of the 2up riding, but its alot fun solo

I've never ridden a V-Rod... But I would buy one for $3000, just to play with!
I saw this beautiful ORANGE '05 VRSE at Panama City Beach Harley a couple of weekends ago. They were asking $10,995 for it. If I had the funds available, I would have bought it!

hahaha one can never have too many toys :pineapple: hopefully the Vrod will have a supercharger on it by the middle of next summer. Sold the Black dually"the Bad @@ truck", kept the red dually V10, bought a 2010 2500 diesel for the wife"still bone stock for now", and my everyday ride granny glide the 4door gran prix hahaha.
But back on subject, put a roadglide fairing on it, fit it with cruise control, and hard bags, and it would be a heck of a power touring bike. I am refusing to install the roadglide fairing because I am afraid I would sell my ultra.

05 and 06 were the only true CVO yrs of the Vrod. the 07 which is the Vance & Hines drag bike tribute and serialized is commonly mistaken for a CVO, but i dont think it was sold as a CVO. thats what i would love to have if i could afford one just to have hahaha.

Just go get it, Ken. It's just money.....the g'vment prints it everyday.
Comments on the vrod. Like the looks but doesn't fit me in any way....I'm too vertically challenged for 'em

Haird, if you get a chance try a 2012 or newer night rod just for fun, it fits us vertically challenged guys better i am 5'10.5" ish. and was stetched out on the older ones.

You still got about 4" on me there smk. 5ft 6 here and while my feet are flat on the floor, my arms and legs make me look like I've been it in the gut and I'm flying backward I'm so stretched out. I've sat on the newer models...same issue. Like the look, just not the fit

I'm 5'9"... But I'm all legs and arms, so a V-Rod might fit.
While I was down at Panama City Beach Harley, I texted my wife with a picture of that nice orange CVO V-Rod and asked her if I could buy it for $11,000. She said "Sure! Just trade Honey Badger for it, and we're good to go! I can use the extra money to remodel the master bath!"
And that's when the fight started...
Guess who won? :o
HINT: Honey Badger is still here, and she Still Don't Care!

I was about to take the plunge in 2007, had everything in place to pick up the V Rod with custom paint ( 0 klms on the clock) at a bargain price.
Dealer was closing down.
Took a demo for a ride and boy they handle great with that long racked front end, cornering was like riding a sports bike.
Only issue I had was the riding position and after thinking about it for a few days it was not my style of riding any more.
Had all the fast bikes and scrapping around corners and thought I had my fun with the sports bikes.
