Title: 04 Deuce
Post by: appeal_it on January 13, 2008, 12:55:28 AM
I have an 04 Yellow/Platinum Deuce.  I believe that it is the greatest motorcycle of all time.  But Harley has decided to scrap the Deuce, except for our tank (the Rocker) and there are very few posts.  I don't understand.  We need more of the SE Deuce owners to show love for our motorcycle.   :soapbox:

Same bike...04 Yellow/Platinum Deuce; same feeling...greatest motorcycle of all time!
The only saving grace is I heard we can put the rocker flush mount pop-up gas cap and fuel gauge on our Deuces' because it is the same tank. :2vrolijk_21:

Wonder why they scrapped it? Just compare the number of posts in any forum regarding the Deuce. Lets see, here alone at 990 posts, we're below the combined total for the Dynas, and only above the Destroyer and FXRs. Cool bike no doubt, but the numbers and low following made it vulnerable.   :(

2003 100th CVO Duece

love the bike, but has been assigned as Bar hopping duty. Not very comfy on the Long Haul so I use the Road King or the new CVO Ultra....very very comfy

I do prefer my 03' Heritage softail on the long trips.  Hate those forward "pegs" on the Deuce. I do think it is the most beautiful bike I have owned though, next to the 46'Chief.

The longest I have rode it was about 300 miles and I was glad to get off and not sure if I could still walk

Yeah, I guess a few hours after you get to stretch out, the pain becomes less memorable - kind of like getting a tooth pulled.   ;D

I agree, I think the deuce is one of the best looking bikes ever made by Harley and real partial to my 2003 CVO.
I must change the chain tensioner real soon before they self destruct and put gear driven cam in.......
I wasn't that concerned over it demise.....just makes the ones left over a little more rare......

I currently have a 2003 SE Deuce and a 2008 SE Ultra...difference is riding the ultra is like riding in a Cadillac, jump on the Deuce and you are in a Corvette!!!!!!

Can only ride it limited miles though.....around town it is a screamer!!!!

Have a '03 with a Corbin seat and while it's not as comfy as my SERK, it's good for any ride under 400 miles. Just get it set up right and it's a blast!

I love the yellow deuce. It may very well be the best looking bike Harley has ever made.
Would love to have one in the garage next to the 05 banana seeg, but funds won't allow
it at this time. But hey a man can dream can't he. Enjoy your bikes.

I love all these things,Duce just happens to be my favorite of all of them.Wonder if the reason their's not much talk about them is a little because their's not much to complain about?Ain't missed a day of ridding yet because of the bike!Just hard to get enough time!!

Nice to hear from everyone re our affairs with the Deuce. I have the cobalt blue and black and 14000 trouble free miles so far. I ride mine when Michigan weather permits and when I do ride I go where ever it takes me. I agree with everyone who can do the "baggers" for the longer hauls but all I got is the Deuce (added the Sundowner seat and it don't look bad). Longest ride is my pilgrimage to Sturgis (left from the inside of my garage) in Northville Michigan thru the Upper Peninsula and across then down to Sturgis. (two day ride). My return home was the "Super Slab" (Sturgis to La cross Wisconson where I spent the night) in one ride (about 700 miles) Then on to Milwaukee and Caught the ferry across Lake Michigan (avoided Chicago traffic) to Muskegon and home.

Love the bike and some day will add the bagger, but won't shed the Deuce
John

I got this one for Christmas 08'. I LOVE IT. The phatail was added at the dealer before delivery according to the guy I bought it from. It had 2500 hundred miles on it and I have already rode 500. The ONLY complaint is from the wife, the stock passenger seat is pretty hard on her pretty lil ass................

Deuce Goose that is a sweet ride. My buddy I ride with a lot has the same bike, but doesn't have the phatail kit.  That really makes that bike look sharp.  Is that a 200 on the back?

2G, go to ebay and find a stock Deuce seat. They're a dime a dozen because everyone took them off in favor of the Sundowner seat. The back portion is comfortable for a long cruise (so I've been told ;D).
