Doh!  Taillamp just fell out!!!

Went for a ride around ocean drive here in Newport, RI for lunch.  About a mile from work, I was at a light and someone walks up to me and asks if I know my taillight is hanging!  I look back and there it is flopping abainst the License Plate.  I pull over and re-install it...


...I never knew it was NOT screwed in!  It is held by friction apparrently.  So I pop it back in and off  I go.  

The dealer did replace my rear fender last year...so it is possible he did not put it in well but i would have thought I world notice when cleaning.

Re-thinking the change to the LED LAMP!

No mounting points or hardware of any kind?  Just a straight pressure fit?  Boggles the brain.  

Was the fender ok or did it get marked up a little?

No marks on the fender from my quick look...too much dirt there protecting it anyway!

There are rubber-like tabs on the light that held it in...I put the upper one in first then pushed up slightly and the lower one dropped in to place.

There is a tab on the bottom of the lens which holds it in place on the Deuce. To remove the lens you have to stick a phillips screwdriver up through the middle hole just in front of the plate. This is how you remove the lens and also make sure that you have it fully seated when reinstalling.

JUST HAD A NEW REAR FENDER INSTALLED BY THE DEALER.  ON THE WAY HOME MY WIFE WAS FOLLOWING BEHIND ME.  WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEAR HER BEEPING AND SEE HER WAVING HER HANDS IN MY MIRROR.  SO I PULLED OVER.  THERE'S MY TAILLIGHT HANGING OVER MY LICENSE PLATE.  LUCKILY NO DAMAGE TO THE PAINT.  WELL IF I EVER NEED TO TAKE OFF AND REINSTALL MY TAILLAMP IM NOW AN EXPERT AFTER HAVE A HEART ATTACK FIRST
