Title: Steering Head Pinch Bolt
Post by: NoTolerance on July 22, 2019, 07:14:00 PM
From my understanding, the process for adjusting the steering head bearing has changed with the M8 models.

Mine needs to be tightened.

The manual says to remove the outer fairing, loosen the top pinch bolt, then use a 1/4" hex on the bottom to adjust.

The problem I'm having is that I can't see how that top pinch bolt is accessible without removing the inner fairing as well.

Before I put in a bunch of extra work, am I just missing something? Or do I actually need to remove the inner fairing as well?

For what it's worth, I ended up removing the inner fairing. I probably didn't need to - the bolt was somewhat accessible by just tilting the inner fairing forward - but I figured the extra room wouldn't hurt and it would make it easier to perform the drop test with it off.
