I really hate to double post, but in this case I feel I need to.
Okay guys it's like this, I tagged onto a thread about Progressive shocks and got a bit of information, but still have more questions.
So next I posted it as a separate thread in the SERK forum and got zero, nada, zilch, etc for responses.
This is what I asked in the other thread.
I have a question for anyone that might know the answer.
I've been waiting for my '08 SERK Annie and hopefully this morning I'll get a call from the dealer that they have the VIN... I placed my deposit on July 12th. I guess in years past that this is not that long of a wait.
Anyway, I understand that the SERK's are lowered and I'm not sure that I'll like that. I ride mostly two up and my wife and I are not twigs.
So the question is this, if I get a better rear shock that is stock height, like the Progressive shocks, that will raise up the rear of the bike.
What is required on the front end to raise it back up? I know all about the Atlanta place but think that with my riding style that the slightly upgraded stock suspension will be just fine for my riding.
Thanks in advance for the help.
I've e-mailed Traxxion about their stuff, but like I said above, I feel the way I ride the stock suspension will be very well, albeit at original stock RK height.
The rearend is pretty much straight forward, I find some take off good as new OEM rear shock or buy new. The frontend is a bit different. I've had forks apart on my old '76 FLH and I'm not sure what I need to do to get the inch or so back. Do I just put in spring spacers at the top of the springs like I have in my FLH?
So again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
PS: I used the site's spell check on this and it came up with a wrongly spelled word, SERK's... One of the corrected alternate words is Seka's... Now I'm not saying that I'm a pervert, which my wife might disagree on, but how does a porn star's name become a replacement for SERK's???
Just thought I'd ask.
PSS: I just got my VIN this morning for my new SERK Annie and will be picking it up on Saturday about 9:00 am. Hope the weather holds out so I can get some miles on it. I'll see how well it handles my wife and I with the lowered suspension.
Thanks again.
