Mr. Clean Carwash System - $1.99
« on: October 27, 2009, 10:33:29 PM »

These have been discussed  before and they are what they are.  For $20 I don't think they are worth it, but for $1.99, someone may want to try it.  Deal is only good till midnight tonight.

I've been using it for a few years now and love it. It leaves no residue or streaks after you wash it, so you don't have to scratch your paint by wiping it down. My bike is vivid black, so that is really important for me.

I agree the filter cartridges work, but Dude, you are not wiping down the black color, everything is / has been base clear for at least 10 years. You are "wiping" down the clear only.

I wash all my bikes and cars with Mr. Clean system and I can swear by it.  Living in Alabama where it gets over a 100 degrees through the summer, it leaves the bike streak free and looking great without having to dry it off.  You must keep a good cartridge in it or you will get streaks.

Good to know.... But how many washes is a cartridge good for?

Thanks

The fact is, scratched clear coat on a black or darker solid colored bike is far more noticable than a lighter color. His point was well taken.

That said, I use this contraption and it works pretty good. I don't bother with adding the soap to the thing, but just use the final rinse to help avoid water spots with my hard well water from my outside spigot. Works well.

I would say around 25 or so, depends on the mineral content in your water.

Have one and it works good as long as you change the cartridge every 10 washes or so.  I think it ionizes the water so it doesn't leave spots we have hard water here.

Figured I'd add to this post rather then start a new one.
It looks like the Mr Clean has been discontinued. I couldn't find the filter anywhere but Ebay and at a crazy price. I had to order 12 pro series kits just to get the filters at a good price from
http://www.fireflybuys.com/p-194-mrclean-autodry-pro-series-mega-pack-carwash-kit.aspx
Got 2 filters in each kit. Plus they were offering free shipping on orders over $50 at the time so I made out well.
If you see them in your travels, pick up what you can.

I've been using the Mr. Clean system for about 1.5 years now.  It works pretty well, although not as well as it claims.  The filters last about 8-10 washes.  The cost ($20) wasn't bad and it does come with an unconditional guarantee as well.

Thanks for the info.  Got with my neighbor and got ten of them.  Just about ruined our relationship with the UPS driver.  Just 2 in each box and weight was about 70 Lbs.  Should last us a while... ;D :D ;D
