Title: Agitator Gloss Black Wheels on 2017 FLHXSE
Post by: ronallen71 on August 15, 2019, 12:10:01 AM
I have a 2017 FLHXSE and have noticed the crappy Aggressor rear wheel is starting to have chrome peel on the spokes.  I am not a fan of the wheels anyway so I am ready for a change.  I really like the Agitator in Gloss Black but the P&A catalog does not list my bike as one that the 19" front and 18" rear will fit.  My dealer inquired for me to MoCo and they confirmed that they should not be installed on Street Glides at all and only Road Glides.  WTF?  Does anyone have any further information?  I am probably going to buy them anyway but wanted some reasoning id there is any.  Thanks for any help.

Funny thing about that, the actual catalog listing shows they fit all 2009 and up Touring models except Trikes and 2012 and later CVO's unless they came equipped with Agitator wheels originally.  So whoever told you they should only be installed on Road Glides is wrong.  And they don't indicate why you shouldn't install them on a CVO but they specifically show they fit all the other variants of the Street Glide for 2017.  I've seen this sort of thing on tons of parts over the years, where H-D claims something won't work on a CVO but it in fact does.  The Agitator rims come in the correct size for your bike, and are rated for use on the heavier Touring models so that shouldn't be a factor for your bike either.   If there is an actual legitimate reason they don't want you to install these wheels on a '12 or later CVO, they should spell it out.  Otherwise I tend to just call BS.

I put agitators on my 2015 FLHXSE. You will have to purchase new front brake rotors though. The rear rotor was a direct fit. I know the dealership had a hard time getting the rear bearings pressed to the right spacing but they did get it dialed in and I never had a problem.

Good Luck.

Thank you both for your input, I am doing it!  I had already planned on matching rotors and will get new bearings, etc so i should be good to go.  Thanks again!
