Title: New GTS now made to fit 2014-2018 bikes.

So it seems HD might have listened to consumers and is now offering the GTS radio for our older Rushmore bikes.

So I have some questions and thoughts on this. I know the GTS boots up faster than the old GT radios but I am wondering if all the other features of the GTS will work on the older bikes? Will we get all the engine info that the GTS offers?

And then the one option that while I wish my 2015 had it isn't a HUGE thing for me. That is the TPMS..... I read the thread about using a BCM from say a 2016 bike but from what I read no one has actually tried it out to verify if it would work or not.

My last question is for those of you who have a GTS radio. I have a 64gb thumb drive that I have 40+gb of music on and my current GT radio takes time to boot up and then load the thumb drive. I've talked to others who are using smaller thumb drives and they say it takes a long time for their drives to boot up also. So does the GTS boot any faster when you are using a thumb drive for your music?

Fits 2015 CVO Road Glide Ultra but not 2015 CVO Street Glide? Weird, wrong or is it something to do with the Boom Stage2 and the amps?

UPDATE...

Found it for the CVO Street Glide..different part number.  Maybe flashed for amps?

Found 2 that will fit my 2017.

76000829A  Sale $1519.96$  1899.95

76000511  Sale $1359.96  $1699.95

Top one has buttons, bottom one does not.  Not considering either one of these units.  If anybody out there offered a Plug & Play, with all the features my 2017 Itaint offers except in good & reasonable working order, I would consider that.  Any alternative to the POS Itaint that was more user friendly, basically, but not another HD thousand dollar+ glitch screened abomination.

I've not used a 64g thumb drive on mine, but it is 32g.  the first time, it takes a little time to 'index' the files, maybe 30 secs to to a minute.  but definitely not a long time.  afterwards, I've even removed mine to plug in a different one, and when I plug the original back in, it's back to playing music within 10 seconds.

going from the stock hk in the 2013, skipping the first gen infotainment and going straight to the gts, i'm actually pretty impressed with the performance of it.  I haven't encountered all the different 'glitches' that people have been complaining about between music playback and nav.  I don't have a wired headset, so I can't comment on things that use voice activation.

Well to give you an idea what the GT is like every time I start my bike it can take 3-8 minutes for radio to reload all the files on my thumb drive. And songs that I have tagged as favorites don't show up half the time. And then there is the issue where it doesn't save the shuffle setting every time it is started so you have to go into the settings and select shuffle again. All small glitches but can be a PITA.

yeah, I've heard of those issues.  thankfully the gts doesn't have them.  if I had the gt with those, I would be giving consideration to the gts upgrade, or at the least, the sony aftermarket replacement.

I like that it 'remember's all the mp3s and doesn't have to go through the indexing process on every startup.

Mine has all those glitches plus the "no media found" screen which shows up regularly, even when the unit is playing & changing songs on an MP3. Navigation system is sort of reliable but it also has some issues.

Looked at the Sony unit but is not close enough to consider.

"The Sony XAV-AX 5000 is not marine grade like the Boom Box system is. So, you'd need to be careful if riding in heavy rains and when washing your Harley. You'll lose your intercom functionality and it's not CB radio compatible. Additionally, you won't see your EITMS on/off screen or oil pressure like on the Boom Box."

I ride in heavy rain so it's not a consideration even if it was fully functional.

I guess I have been lucky...my stock '15 radio has none of the issues described. Not sure about the huge thumb drive problems, but no glitches on the screen or errors.

Sorry I should have posted both model numbers for both bikes. But glad to see HD is now offering it for both our bikes.  Now I just need to win the Lotto.....    :nixweiss:

Yep MoCo must have seen that Pete at soundz had a kit to make it work in the other bikes. So not too let him get all the fun hey we're retro it too.

X2, My GT 2015 has had none of the problems listed above. I use a thumb drive, 32G and it took 30 seconds + or - the first time, now maybe 10 seconds and music is playing. We have been very satisfied with it, use the nav everytime I ride, never a problem, use XM probably 95% of the time and have never experienced the connection problems mentioned on this site. We ride with the wired headsets (HD) on every ride, just no problems. Good thing because I would not spend $150 much less $1500 for quicker warm-up or to correct any other problem.

Anyone find the price for the USB Connector P/N 76000374A that makes it possible to retrofit the GTS for the 15 thru 18's?

I can't answer your questions directly as I did not use a thumb drive on the old Boom Box! system. Can say, having used Boom Box! on a '16 SERGU and now the GTS on a '19 RG Special, the differences are minimal compared to the price tag of the new GTS and what I am sure will be all the gremlins that appear when the units are swapped out.

HD can't get the bugs out of their software on stock GTS units, search here, you will find lists of issues, I have little faith that adding one to an older bike will be a smooth transition!

Wow, if that's the case the cost through Harley is about 10% of what the Soundz guy was charging for the interface. Would there need to be a flash through Harley done as well?

Hi, Guys. Anyone was able to retrofit TPMS on 14-16 CVO bikes that upgraded to new BOOM GTS? Trying to figure if that's possible.

Thanks!

EDIT: Referring to model 14-15 year, since 16 already have this option.

'16 bikes have it so it shouldn't be an issues. Just need the sensors and the bcm flashed.

Don't want to sound rude but your grammar makes me think you are outside of the US. If so, you may want to check with your local dealer to confirm. HD certainly does weird things to accommodate our international riders.

Mike, I guess New Jersey could be considered outside the US

Please keep me posted if TPMS support appeared for you. Someone told me we also need to change a BCM to newer model. Thanks @motor1

I have installed Boom GTS earlier this week on a 2015 CVO, unfortunately no TPMS support (no option to enable on dealer's software) because of BCM. Also need new wheels to fit the sensors.

For you that have upgrade from the BOOM GT to the GTS, did you also have to purchase a new SiriusXM Satellite Radio Kit?

Harley shows a different part number for use with the GTS. However, it seems like the only difference is the antenna mounting bracket has changed. Yet it still doesn't improve reception. There are a few who stated that the old XM module works fine with the GTS. But I believe I read where the weather radar (if you would use that optional feature) doesn't operate quite as well as it would with the updated module.
