Title: New Software Version 8.19 is Ready
Post by: VAZHOG on March 15, 2007, 03:00:03 AM
MOCO has updated firmware/software for the H-K Advanced Audio System.

Ver. 8.19

http://www.harley-davidson.com/cp/moar/en/xmsr.asp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448768271&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309077614&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309077614&bmUID=1173913211970&bmLocale=en_US

Click the Software Download.

I don't know what has been fixed - but if version 8.19 is ready can 9.1 be far ahead?  ;D

This version replaces 8.11

Would someone PLEASE tell me why I want to update my working radio with newer software, without knowing what it does?

Or simply put, what does the update fix or modify? Anyone? Anyone?

BigThanks!

Just go to this http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=11751.msg183065#msg183065 and you will see that you are not alone wanting to know what those updates do  :sauer005:

I personally updated twice : 8.9 and now 8.19. My HK had the 8.0 originally. The only change I noticed from 8.0 to 8.9 was that I could see the name of song and artist when listening to MP3's. I haven't seen any difference from 8.9 to 8.19 yet.

I agree that MOCO should at least tell what are the differences. Garmin does it for its upgrades.

Regards,

Phil

Your Radio is working okay for you only if you do not use all it's features. 8.9 to 8.11 fixed a problem with the AVC . I don't know what this version fixes or patches it my relate to the GPS, Blue Tooth, or the possible merger of XM & Sirius? I did not ask Bill gates Why I needed to upgrade my XP from SP1 to SP2 just because my xp was working okay :).

You should upgrade in case you or the next owner adds something to the current radio you may not use and as the years go by this update or type of radio my be Manufactured continued.

You ask for a reason so I have given you some. It's your radio update if want or don't that's what America is all about.

Call me skeptical but if the upgrade gave us some cool new feature/s/ they would tell us about it.  My guess, it fixes a number of problems including some caused by interaction of some of the add-on products.

Well I bit and upgraded mine this morning.  Guess I'll see what, if any, difference it made this weekend.

Jerry...on a prelim test last night, it seems to have fixed the always going to Aux problem on mine.  If it did, it'll be worth it for me.  I've got 8.9, 8.11 saved on my hard drive at home if anyone needs to go back to the older version after they don't like something about the 8.19

I updated my Working Radio and went for A ride to test it - I noticed that my XM now displays the Artist and the song title it!, just did the station (ID) Example Lucy before.

Just got done installing my update.  The first time I ran the CD, I got an error message about half way through saying I had the wrong CD and it exited from the update with no problems.  I ran the update again, and the second time it took.  Probably was just a glitch reading the CD the first time.  Everything updated fine and have both 8.19 lines in the software screen.  Will test it out the first decent riding day I get to get out.  But first impresseion, it seems to be working fine.
Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,

Could someone tell me what to click on at the HD site to find all these downloads for radios, and fuel maps for SERTs? I see the individual links people have posted, but how do I get there from the homepage?

DS, for the radio, go to the '06 motorcycles and the go to touring models. Then look for the advanced radio option and look for updates. I don't think you can get the fuel maps from HD directly, you'll have to go to the dealer for that.

Advanced Audio site (separte from the rest of the HD site and easier to find the software from) is here:

HD has no downloads you can hit for the SERT though.  You don't really think they're going to let you download those for free when they can charge big bucks for them do you?

Took a little 1,300 mile jaunt over the weekend and ver 8.19 worked fine.  Not sure what it "fixed" exactly but at least it didn't screw anything up, lol. :2vrolijk_21:

Amen.  Nothing worse than getting your bike "fixed" and then finding out that either 1) it wasn't or 2) it's even worse now.  I hate it when that happens.
