Title: Music Solution (yes it works.)
Post by: altugo on April 18, 2006, 02:26:02 PM
My wife gave me an Ipod nano wich is very small and also an armband and a wristband made for it.I tought i could fix it on the handlebar with the wristband and gave it a shot.It fit perfectly on the clutch reservoir and voila.Just plug in the headphones and all the features of the ipod is there.I shuffle the songs can skip back or forth and adjust the volume as i wish.I rode about 150 miles today with speeds up to 90 mph and no problems. It just sits there and plays music.Bike is sefatboy with windshield.I just took the pics for you guys to see but i will picture it on the bike tomorrow so you can also see how it looks on the bike.By the way my pipes are still stock i wonder if i could still hear it with thunderheaders that i ordered lol.

My son and I discussed this option this weekend.  Can't wait to see pics of it attached to  handlebars.  Do you use earbuds?  What type of helmet do you wear?  No issue with headphones?   8-)

Vgirl i will take some photos today. It is working perfectly.I just lay headphone cables around and they seem to be not affected from wind. But you can always wire them trough left arm of your jacket when you are wearing one.I wear half open face didnt try with fullface yet.For now i just have basic ipod earplugs but i want to upgrade my headphonesWhen i need to talk someone i just unplug the headphones than just plug it back.By the time you guys wake up I should have pics ready.

I use something very simular, a Nano with a clip case. I clip it on my clutch cable and rest it on the bars, works perfect.

As for the buds, I went with Sony wrap-arounds. They work perfect for both my full face and my postage stamp I really rarely use anymore. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

By the way, I also use the Nano on my banana. Just drop it in the dash baggie thingie and plug it into the aux. input of the radio. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Yours seems like a safer solution.Im afraid that by time velcro will get loose and nano might drop.

If it does, don't try to grab it! [smiley=nervous.gif]

Both look like they'd work well.  Will try it and let you know.  If you're not taking the velcro off and on, it should stay strong.  If it was me, once I attach it where I like it, I'll slide out the nano and leave the case where it is.  Thanks for pics.  I know I can't live without tunes!

My vote would be for the small GPS unit with the MP3 capability.  (liekthe 2730/2820)  Then you get the: GPS, the tunes, the lil' chickadee tellin' ya where to go,and your phone works with it.  Not to mention it costs a lot more, which helps with the OCD...    8-)
