I am on my third HD with XM antenna in the fairing, all have worked great. No complaints.

I find my XM cuts out when traveling North. For those who put the antenna on the faring did your reception improve? How did you mount it on the faring?

Yes, my reception improved when I put the antenna on the fairing.  Took off the outer fairing, got the antenna and placed it next to the vent on the right side of the bike.  I placed a little notch on the inner fairing with a dremel for the wire.

put mine next to vent with two sided tape. Much improved. Just ran wire through without any mods

Be careful with those windshield screws on your new bike. They can strip real easy if you try to force them back in.
