Another new gadget- Digital Guard Dawg
« on: March 31, 2007, 12:51:36 AM »

I just had to try this gizmo out, I can't ever find the keys anyway.  Seems to work as advertised, but I think I will bring along my old relay "just in case" .

The classsic car crowds have had similar applications for awhile too.  Things built in to starter solenoids or via other means.

It's a nice simple idea and a nice clean application for our environment.  Would work entirely separately from the stock alarm too.  So you can get this nice mental image of someone messing around to defeat the known alarm system only to find that while all the lights worked and everything else seemed fine the starter still wouldn't engage (at least until he jumped the solenoid).

It's way overpriced for what it is though.  Minimal parts that are cheap to make and they're asking $150.00.  I like gadgets ok, but not that bad.  Might be a handy idea for a bike without any alarm on it to begin with.  Still overpriced.  But cheaper than the full alarm system alternative with a lot less installation involved.
