2005 SEEG Radio light replacement
« on: January 02, 2008, 12:49:44 AM »

Thought i would ask first before i take off the fairing, is replacing the radio light a big thing or is it one of those take the radio all apart jobs.
Are there more than one light in the radio?

Thanks
Ernie

If your front panel isn't lit, you will probably have to send radio to RadioSound in Louisville, Ky to get repaired.

1) Take radio out

2) Call Radiosound with # off of radio, tell them whats wrong, give them credit card #

3)  box and send to radiosound

Radiosound will only have unit 1-2 days.

Maybe 2Lane or Hd-dude can tell you something different about bulb replacement.   :nixweiss:

Not sure what the cost would be from Radiosound, but if the bike is still under warrranty (original or ESP) it should be covered. If it's the ESP then you should only have to pay $50.

I bought new blue LED bulbs for my bike they came in a package of 7 bulbs kind of thought the last bulb would be for the radio, not sure about that.
Had blue LED light's put on the engine and wanted the dash light's to match.

Thanks

Since this wouldn't be a warranty item then you can disregard my last post, however you may want to look at this thread - "How To" Aux Input Jack Moved to Back of Radio it has pictures of our radio open. Not sure if this will help/show you what you want to see. :nixweiss:

I thought about changing my dash lights to blue.  Talking with somebody about that, he brought up the fact that from the back, at night, I'd have blue lights showing to the rear.  Against the law in Calif.  So I left them alone.

But, if you do it.........we sure want to see the photos.

Besides the speedo and tack are sealed units,  would be a little conserned about opening up one of those.

Excellent point.  The other gauges you can't see/read anyway.

JCZ, in VA both the blue and red are supposedly not legal here, so the red in the dash must be small enough for them to not consider it.  Both Jamey and I have the blue and red boogey lights on our bikes and we use them if we are traveling in the dark or in bad weather. Have never had a problem.

I put blue highlite lights on my glide to show off the engine at night. Got pulled over the first night. It is against the law in Minnesota to have blue lights on any vehicle other than police or emergency vehicles. Went home and toke them off. Just got a warning for the officer. Now that I have the nana  :bananarock: I don't need no stinking extra lights..lol

Now that would get the job done for a blue and black SEEG.  I'm thinkin I'd have to hang on to the stock guages just in case I had to switch them back to get a fix it ticket signed off. :)

So.......did I read this correctly, JC, that you ARE going to change the gauges on your B & B to blue?  :-\ spyder
