That's a nice pair of upgrades to look forward to AJ.  If your experience is anything like mine you'll love the difference.  Have fun with it man :drink: :2vrolijk_21: !

Not to let my cropped hair Jarhead friend out techno-savvy me, I posted a pix for him.  ;D

After installing the Bitubo's, I'm really looking forward to getting the Traxxion's done.

Because of their focus there's one other thing to remember with the HIDs.  I'm sure your tech will take care of this :drink: .  But for others that might swap them later on their own....

Expect to have to raise the headlight adjustment WAY up.  The "break" line for the HIDs has generally been much lower than the halogens were.  It's been very common for the spring behind the top headlight adjustor screw to have to be shortened significantly to have enough adjustment to get the light where you want it.

Thanks for this information Don, I cranked mine all the way in and still felt it needed to have more.

It probably does need more.  Wouldn't be uncommon at all.  On my own I ended up shortening the spring by almost half it's length.  Have taken at least two or three coils off three others.  Trust your eyes and not Harley's idea of how long the spring should be.

I just spoke to the people at: www.xenonlink.com and they couldn't have been nicer. My order that was placed over the weekend will be shipping today and should be here before I leave for my technical guru's house in Hotlanta on Thursday!  They said that if anyone in our group needed assistance with placing an order or technical advice to call them direct: We can be reached at 1.510.440.1553.
Hope this helps.

Thanks AJ. I just spoke to them. There is no sealed beam replacement HID. You need to buy a new housing using replacable bulbs to convert to HID. So right now, the WG's out, the Pro Street's out, and not sure what the FXR comes with, but I'd venture to say it's sealed bem unit too. Damn! :(

Oh, I almost forgot. The lights came in yesterday. 2 day shipping from California! On time as promised! I'm not quite sure where the ballasts are going to mount yet. They felt kinda heavy. I should get them done over the weekend if all goes well tomorrow at Traxxion's. I should be on the road in about 11 hours!

Chuck was going to try HID spots but the bulbs wouldn't fit in the light housings.  This mftr might (or might not) be different there.  Using HIDs in the spots would also mean another pair of ballasts inside the fairing.  If I knew the bulbs would fit I'd do it anyway.  Especially for the cost of this mftr's kits.

I was sure I'd read on here than somebody actually had done it, Don - must have been mistaken.  I wonder if the HID could be hid in the HDI spots? (Just had to say that!  ;)) Ours are H3 bulbs, you might recall.  I have the non-HDI HD HID (getting better!  :D) dual reflector unit, and I've changed the pathetic 35w main beam to a blue (8k supposedly) 55w, and wired it so main and low beams are on together. I also changed the spots from the standard 35w H3 to 55w (again, blue, 8k supposedly) bulbs, and wired them so they stay on of main beam too.  The colour match of the three bulbs is not even close to the HID - they look very white, the HID looks greenish.

So on main beam I have 165w of conventional halogen + the HID low on.  And the lights are still not great..... I'd like to convert high beam and the two spots to HID, so it would be nice to find a low-cost kit like this that would go in the HDI spot housings...

i came up with this when researching my hid, it's why i choose the 6500k. and i know not to believe everything but i sure like my double hid's on the fltr.

• The unit of the color temperature is K.
• The unit of the brightness is lumen.
• Because the sensitivity of the eye for different color is distinct, the color
temperature is too high for the eye to be sensitive, for example, the
lumen of 4300K is 3200lm, but it cuts down to 2200lm when it is
12000K.
• Do not mistake that the higher the color temperature, the brighter the
light. The color temperature is only related to the temperature of the
light color, not to the brightness.
• To an extent, the higher the color temperature, the lower the lumen,
and the penetration of the fog and raining would be worse.
• The penetration of the 3000K (golden light) is good, fitting for the fog
and raining. However, this is just for the distance, not for the bright
lighting, it is tired for the eye after a long time driving.
• We recommend the color temperature of 6000K.
• The surface temperature of the sun is 6000K, it is the same color
temperature as 6000K.
• Color temperature of the halogen lamp is 2800K

I've got the 4300k and AJ has the 8000k. It will be a good comparison tomorrow when we install his. Even the 4300 makes the spots look dingy and yellow. I'm sure the 8000 will be even more drastic.
