TIF2, it does seem unusual that the 2010 CVO Ultra amp controls the fader; but, if you look at the wiring diagram for the audio system, it shows only the front speaker signals from the HK going to the amp--the rear signal outputs of the HK aren't used.  So, the front signals go to the amp; they're split to create the amplified front and rear signals; and, the amp does indeed control the fader function.

Since HD sells the same amp as an upgrade accessory for other models that do use all four output channels of the HK (e.g. a non-CVO Ultra Classic installation), there must be some firmware that controls where the fader function occurs.  Wonder if Tony at ICA has the capability to address that firmware.

Well, that's what was told to me. When I control the radio I can control between the front and rear. But the lower stays constant.

If the radio is flashed for fader control and has no HK amp, the radio's processor will be responsible for fading.

As soon as the CAN BUS sees the HK amp, all fader control default to the amp and the front/rear speaker out at the radio (or pre-amp for those who have them) will be constant full.

Hope that clears it up
