Vegas to Pacific Coast Hwy June 2019
« on: August 11, 2019, 12:41:53 AM »

Wife and I did this trip with our good friends Steve and Tammy starting June 8 2019 over 6 days. Senora pass had just opened.  We took the 16 CVO limited and Steve on his 16 Road glide.  Last pic is at Artist's Palette in Death Valley.  This is an incredibly beautiful trip and I would highly recommend it.  Take your time as there is lots to do/see.

We started in Vegas through Death Valley to Mammoth Lakes (CA) - Sonora Pass - San Francisco - Montara - Santa Cruz -Monteray/Carmel - Point lobos state reserve - Big Sur - Elephant seal beach - Morro Bay - Bakersfield and back to Vegas.

Thanks a bunch for shairing your ride with us.

Many people on this forum don't have any idea about Sonora Pass....here's a pic that kind of tells the story of what that pass is about....

Yes Sonora and Tioga are two of my favorite passes heading to Modesto.  Since it just opened, we were not only riding thru  steep inclines and hairpin turns, but also riding around baseball size rocks and snow on the road.  But that's what riding is all about...you get to experience all nature has to offer.  We went from 115 in death valley to 20 degrees on Sonora next morning.

There really is no where else like the California coast. This weekend the inland bay area temps will be in the 90s/100. So I'm going to go through The City, and up the coast to Ft. Bragg. Probably will spend one or two nights just to avoid the heat.
