Quick Question...Help
« on: December 10, 2015, 09:37:38 AM »

Hi,

Been gone for a while, bought a BMW GTL and one of our stores took a 2012 CVO Street Glide in with 8,500 miles on the clock.  I took a quick look at the bike when i was there for a meeting, i noticed V&H exhaust system but other than that, the bike at a glance looked stock.  I have a chance to buy it for just under $25,000.00.  Been out of touch for a year or so, I assume this is a good buy?

Gives you an idea of pricing.  If you work for the dealership I don't think your getting a deal.

Wow, Jim.  That's $3000 less than I got on trade 5 months ago for my '12 with more miles... :nixweiss:

Rio, I would go for it at "just under $25,000" if it's in great shape.  K'ville HD sold my '12 retail for $29,000 this past September.  33K on the clock, decatted header and SERT tune were the only extras.

A 2012 Ruby that hasn't been molested too much, low miles, seems like a decent price.

Here's a black one with some upgrades in stereo, digital gauges, not sure what else, 7900 miles, buy it now for $26,950:

Agreed x2. Some used car manager gave waaaaay too much for the trade if you're buying wholesale!

Vehicle mileage is one of the biggest factors in setting price.  Almost 25,000 miles on this one; it should be priced lower than one with 7900 miles.

25K for the bike you describe is a good retail price.  It sounded from your post like you may have some involvement with the dealership offering the bike for sale?  If so, you probably have some ability to offer less - something closer to wholesale pricing?

Book values are a crap shoot these days, but as best I can tell a 2012 SESG trade-in value is around $21k - $24k and high retail at a dealership is close to $29k.  Assuming the bike in question is in excellent condition, $25k sounds like a decent price.
