Have I mentioned how much I HATE this stock seat?!
« on: May 19, 2010, 11:03:14 PM »

First of all I do really HATE this stock seat.  Yes, I have the GAP.  And yes, I have the right side of the seat rubbing the right bag lid....  but beyond that....

I really HATE how this seat sits me.  Way too soft and way too low.  The seat needs to be more firm and more supportive in all aspects also it needs to provide more leg room.

Coming from a 2008 Crossbones I feel like I am sitting in a hole!  I really got used to and miss the way my Crossbones set me on the bike.  I wish I could put that seat on this one, I know it would look like chit but it would feel much better.

I paid almost twice the price for this bike compared to my Crossbones and when it comes to the seat I am less than half as happy.

I need to find a seat that sits me as high as that one did and is more supportive.  Maybe a custom made aftermarket seat that would give me a good two inches of height and legroom or something?  IDK

Ok, I'll get off this  :soapbox: and calm down now.  Just had to vent.

Thanks  :coolblue:

I know just what you mean.  There are plenty of seat makers out there that will do you right though.

I just got email confirmation that my seats from C & C seats shipped tonight.  I only ordered them last Thursday.  Not too bad for custom seats that they only start making once they get the order.  No stocked items really.  Also, besides being an absolute pleasure to work with, they are much more competitive with the prices.

I ordered two seats, one is the solo, and the other is their SportTour.  Beyond the fact that the stock seat SUCKS, I wanted to get a seat that doesn't rub the bag lids.  I may still look for a nylon bushing to space out the front bag mount.  We'll see on Monday when the package gets here!!

I'll be sure to post up pics.

I've had 6 bikes , never liked the stock seat on any of them.

I just got a new one and ordered a Corbin before I even took delivery

Put 300 miles on the first seat just had the gap issue! Replaced it with a Sundowner fits perfect and the BSR likes it too. ;D

Got the revised seat no gap issue now it rubs the saddlebeg lid left side rode home from the dealer 117 miles and hung it on the wall in the garage   :nixweiss: just using the Sundowner.

Still contemplating the Corbin Dual Tour as it offers heat both front and rear, and I like the looks of their seats. :2vrolijk_21:

Wrote the dealer requesting a credit or replacement with another seat no response been over a week at this point.  :nixweiss:

Try the Mustang Classic solo--much more comfortable and it sits you up a little, you can add a passenger pillion if you need to.

I just took a six day trip, total of 2000 miles on the stock seat, I have the drivers backrest, and the stock seat did very well, my xxx never started hurting, but, I guess when you come off a Super Glide w/ 10 1/2'' shocks like I did, you will enjoy the stock seat.

Put a Mustang on my RK in 2007 after an ass numbing 400km ride the first day.

Ordered the Mustang before I even saw my 2010 CVO SG - I just don't understand why they put that crap stock seat on there....  7 days after we took the bike we rode 5000km up through Malaysia and Thailand for Phuket Bike Week - no ass ache, and no ball ache from my good lady as she was also really comfortable.

Now I need a cool looking seat for round town - C&C flame stitched solo with removable pillion might be good - anyone tried it???

Have you considered the FLHTP seat?  It would be very similar to your CrossBones seat.  They should be available on eBay or new from your dealer (or Jenni).

I'm in the minority here but I really like the re-designed seat. No gap and rubbing on the rear bags.

I received the "re-designed" seat and could not tell the difference, except for the blemishes in the leather on the old one. The supports installed kept the seat from flexing and causing the front to pull down and almost out of the front clip, was the big difference. I still prefer my Corbin night and day difference in construction and comfort. JMO  :2vrolijk_21:
