100W per channel Harman Kardon system on 2011 SESG
« on: August 05, 2010, 11:33:02 AM »

Anyone know how HD is getting 100W per channel from the HK radio on the 2011 SESG?  Presumably it's a four-channel system for the front speakers and speakers in the fairing lowers.  And it's probably an external amp mounted inside the fairing.  If so, it may be a good alternative for other applications since there are very limited choices for in-fairing four-channel amps.

Apparently, HD has a new amplifier that mounts inside the fairing of the '11 SESG; p/n 77041-11:

Just scroll down to the FLHXSE2 new parts listed under Sound System.

This amp must be 4-channel and may be worth considering for those seeking a 4-channel amp (100 X 4 according to HD's lit) mounted inside the fairing; for example, those removing the tour pak on CVO Ultra models.

I to am investigating this and haven't had much luck...
The amp can be found in the H-D dealers parts list site but there isn't any price associated with it...same with the tweeters and speakers and grills...
The speakers have a different part number for the right and left and the tweeters have a part number which does include the grill...The grills are sold separately for the speakers...Then there's the amp dealer was no help what so ever with that one other then the Mother Co. hasn't released anything as far as when its going to become available to the public along with everything else that has to do with the sound system on the CVO S/G...

Paul, I tried Zanotti's webpage and they don't show a price; didn't recognize the amp part number.

However, Zanotti's did have the price for the speaker boxes that the SESG2 mounts in the fairing lowers which use 6.5" speakers--$20.41 ea. in primer and not listed as a restricted part (though other parts are so listed).

Hope you find out more information on the amp, speakers, etc.
