12.5" Chubby Bagger Apes on '10 SESG
« on: August 12, 2010, 11:08:29 AM »

I looked around quite a bit for pics when I was deciding on bars and didn't find a whole lot. Here are some shots of the Wild 1 Chubby 12.5" Bagger Apes. Two are shot from my view sitting on the bike so you can see how the mirrors end up. I'm 6' even, and have to lean lean down/in to see with them, and lose about the top 1/4 of the view. I'll be going bar-mounted.
Open to suggestions for the holes in the fairing - I already have extra tweeters (Hawg-Wired tweeters are in the mirror-view shots).

They come to just above the top of the fairing. At 6', this puts my hands just a bit lower than my shoulders. Very comfortable.

Rider's view. Fairing-mounted mirrors are functional, but not a great view and you gotta lean down/in to get it.

And from the rear. Shot from just level with the fairing (like if you were about 4'6").

Thanks to Jim at Metal Dragon (Hayward, CA) for the install. It's like a whole new ride!

What size cables did you have to buy, what brand and where did you buy them? Also what about the TBW and the other wire extensions?

Try www.baggernation.com for covers to go over the holes in your inner fairing. They are called Bagga Chips, in the mirror section. This is Paul Yaffe's product, good luck. Bike and bars look great, isn't Jim at Metal Dragon great?

pallaksch, those bars look great I installed them on my 07 SG and it was very comfortable plus felt like a sportier bike. With my 2010 sesg there is a lot of changes, like hydralic lines etc. So I have been a little leary of this project. If you get a chance would you post some info on the hydralic lines sizes and wire extensions and where one could get those componets. I'm sure there are a lot of us that would greatly apprieciate the guidance.  thanks hndo

I've bumped the technical questions to Jim, who did the install. Keep an eye out for his post to this topic.

I do not have the details here but if anyone would like to get the parts needed for the bar project give me a call and i can set you up with everything needed.
